Hi, I just got the dreaded P0420 code. it was after I had two engine misfires (replaced coils and sparkplugs so now that's all fine) but the process is probably what killed the cat. It's hard times for everyone with the coronavirus shutdown so I can't spring for new ones, but I don't want to scrap my beloved car which is otherwise running fine and it's due for smog in June. It's an automatic fail with an SES light on so I definitely have to get a new cat. Please let me know if you've got one available (passenger side). Thank you! Edit, updating: I am in California so I need a cat from a car that can pass California emissions.
Oh man that sucks. Non Cali person here. My cat failed and I cut the material out and welded it back 😂. Little O2 spacer bung on the O2 sensor and all is good. But I'm sure they check for that out there. No smog test here on my state.
But I did just pass smog today, so yay lol. Just praying that the other side doesn't decide to go before the next smog check in 2 years, lol. Going to change the valve covers asap to try and prevent more engine misfires!-
