Hello FX Community. I saw a very interesting documentary on Netflix yesterday on how we in the States have no real fuel Choice. Our cars since 1996 have been made as Flex Fuel vehicles, and can use Ethanol 85%/Gasoline 15%. Ethanol is a better fuel, with more octane than oil, and it is cheaper. All most cars need is a software upgrade to Start using E85.

Does anyone know if my FX35 2004 model can be converted to accept E85? The movie called Pump shows that installing the conversion kit is not complicated. It is as simple as connecting some ground wires. I want to find an installer with experience to help me with my conversion to FlexFuel/E85.

I am not sure how imported cars designate E85 capability most US cars you can look up with their VIN if it doesn't have the badge or a yellow gas cap.

Otherwise, I think this is what your talking about?
I can't post links but google change2E85 and look up your car.

I had a Lincoln Town Car with the 4.6L V8. No badging, black gas cap, but when I looked up the VIN it was E85 compatible.
I can tell you I really did feel a difference in performance when running E85 instead of 87 octane. My butt HP meter told me it sure felt faster!

Just remember E85 is hygroscopic, and corrosive so you usually don't want to use it in anything that sits for long periods. Boats, small engines, etc. Or a car you don't drive very often.
