PREPARATION BEFORE ADJUSTING
For details, refer to the regulations in your own country.
Before performing aiming adjustment, check the following.
1. Keep all tires inflated to correct pressures.
2. Place vehicle on flat surface.
3. Set that there is no-load in vehicle other than the driver (or equivalent weight placed in driver's position).
Coolant, engine oil filled up to correct level and full fuel tank.
LOW BEAM AND HIGH BEAM
1. Turn headlamp low beam on.
2. Use adjusting screws to perform aiming adjustment.

If the vehicle front body has been repaired and/or the headlamp assembly has been replaced, check aiming.
Use the aiming chart shown in the figure.

Basic illumination area for adjustment should be within the range shown on the aiming chart.

Adjust headlamp accordingly.

Here's a basic walk-through of swapping your HID bulbs:

-turn dust cap counter-clockwise and pull out of the way
-turn the HID balast counter-clockwise and pull out of the way
-squeeze both sides of the spring clip inward and unhook them
-swing spring clip up and out of the way
-pull bulb out
-while holding the sping clip up, insert new bulb and seat
-swing spring clip down and re-hook both sides
-re-attach HID ballast by seating and locking it clockwise
-re-attach the dust cap

You may have an easier time doing the driver's side bulb if you remove the air box first:

-remove the bolt securing it to the fender
-loosen the clamp on the tube behind the MAF and pull tube off
-remove the center scoop (loosten the center of the two push clips with a screwdriver, then pop the clips out)
-pull air box straight out from the top (may take a little wiggling to get the bottom loose from the rubber grommets)

It's really very easy and can be done in 15 min. Just be sure to use the supplied latex glove and don't touch the bulb with your bare hands.

I just adjusted the vertical/up-down on my headlights and it is much better now.

How do you adjust the horizontal/right-left adjustment on the headlights?

There is a left/right adjustment on the 1st generation FXs - assume all Infiniti cars are similar... there is a rubber plug that is a little smaller than a dime... from what I remember you would follow the xenon bulb to the back of the headlamp assumbly and it is on one side or the other... then you can adjust it so that the light is as close to being on the center of the little indentation on the clear headlamp cover... then put the plug back in...

Any pictures of the process? I tried to remove the HID's on my 08 but when I attempted to turn what I'm assuming would be the dust cover it moved very slightly (not even an inch) and doesn't seem to want to turn anymore or pull out. I don't want to apply to much force and break something. How do the dust covers look?

Figured it out. I was trying to turn the wrong piece.
