Is there any noticable difference in replacing that piece other than the louder intake growl?

Yes, there is.

That is the incorrect picture, BTW; that's the 4.5. At any rate, the Z-tube is a good, cheap upgrade and compliments either the Popcharger or Stillen intake very nicely.
