Which oil filter to use? Here is a list of possible oil filters that different members already tried and what I came up with after a quick search. So far, the Mobile M1-105 and M1-110 as well as the K&N HP1006 seem to be near the top of my list. A little extra protection can go a long way.

Nissan 65F00 OEM Oil Filter (oem)
Nissan 9E000 OEM Oil Filter – Large ("taller" than OEM)
Mobil1 M1-105 (wider but slightly shorter than M1-110)
Mobil1 M1-108 (direct FX35 OEM replacement)
Mobil1 M1-110 (same size as Nissan "tall" 9E000)
K&N HP-1006 (wider and taller than HP1008, FX35)
K&N HP-1008 (direct FX35 OEM replacement)
K&N HP-1010 (same size as HP1006, FX45)

Anti-drain valve is present but the main difference between the HP1006 and HP1010 is the psi relief valve setting.
HP-1006: psi relief valve: 11-17, height: 95 mm, od: 71 mm (35)
HP-1008: psi relief valve: 11-17, height: 74 mm, od: 67 mm (35)
HP-1010: psi relief valve: 13-17, height: 95 mm, od: 71 mm (45)

I have used the m-105 since my first oil change. I feel better using the bigger filter.

How did you use the Mobil1 M-105 filter on the FX35? I bought the filter using recommendations from this forum and turns out it didnt screw in all the way. It fit the part where you screw the filter on but since it was wider than the factory filter the edge hit metal piece near it and didnt allow it to go any further. Frustrated I had to go and buy a new filter.
