Yup, I did that after she mentioned it. You can open it up quite a bit.bradical said:ive actually run both of them myself as well... i just liked the installed look of the JWT.
with the stillen, hold the power duct over the opening on the heat shield and look at it from behind BEFORE you install. you might want to "bore" the opening a bit in the shield as the power duct has a larger opening. i think that SweetFX did this if i remember correctly.

bradical, since you have done both, I have a question or two. Looking at the pics, it appears that the JWT heat shield does not have the coverage to isolate engine bay heat well. It looks like the sheild is only blocking flow from the radiator side. To me, it looks like the heat shield should also come across to the fender well. I know this is a G35 kit but could you please comment on this? From what I could see with the Stillen pics from Sweet FX, it also appears that the airbox has an open bottom of for greater flow. BUT, isn't this be defeating the purpose of preventing the warm air from the engine bay from entering the intake like the JWT? Comments?bradical said:ive actually run both of them myself as well... i just liked the installed look of the JWT.

Can you guys post a pic of what you are talking about regarding the "Bore" of the stillen intake. Sounds interesting and I want to do it to my setup.MustGoFastR said:Yup, I did that after she mentioned it. No, you don't need to bore it anymore. Looked like mine was already redone by Stillen. They're probably monitoring our forum.MustGoFastR said:Don't have a pic, but just look in where your stock Power Duct attaches to the Stillen shroud. If you can see the edge of the shroud in the hole, you can open up that hole to match the opening in the power duct. I was able to take about an inch off mine. The may have revised the shroud at some point, though; I haven't heard of people needing to do this lately.
