Is that the non-tech display up top? Is this real, or a Photochop?

Just recalled seeing it on FA previously, so I did a search for "non tech display".

Yes the original screen (orange) is mounted on top. just went to the dealer and showed them that picture and see if they can come up with something for me.

This is a German company that does Nav coversions for the FX overseas. The price for the conversion is around 3000 Euro, which with todays exchage rate is close to 4grand!! And that price is only if you purchase the vehicle through them, if not, its more.

Interesting. I saw something like that from a mag at Barns & Noble. I still can't remember what that mag was and it had some bunch pictures about custom navi installation.

Look like that FX in the picture is non-tech model(see the key insert). I would like to have my laptop screen up there :) .

That's probably a better idea. I've got a coworker who uses a small 12" Mac laptop (older model that could probably be bought for just a couple hundred bucks now) with a handheld GPS and some mapping package, in his car. I'd guess that you could make the whole package for around $500, then you'd just need to figure out how to mount it nicely. Oh, and I'd bet that you could make it work via voice commands. Sounds like a good project that could make a few bucks for some enterprising soul.
