Ways to generate more traffic...

One thing that would really help to generate more traffic is to provide a good reason for people to come here.

How about a good FAQ and tech section that embodies all of the common problems and solutions, DYI mods, etc.

Since this information already exists elsewhere and not even in a very organized fashion, it could be done so here and in a way that makes it more desireable to come here rather than other forums.

Sounds like a plan. What would you recommend to do first? It sounds like you have an idea of exactly what you would like to see, so let's hear it. I am definately interested.

I suppose I should just come out and say it. There's a huge search engine on FA that has a lot of knowledge. I really don't know what the legality of snarfing information from those posts. Even if it's something I posted, I may have agreed in the user agreement that anything I post is property of FA. Maybe I didn't.

First off, in this forum, we need a dedicated FAQ and tech section that has a well documented procedure for submissions.

Then we need some "experts" to generate FAQs for different topics such as common problems and solutions, common questions, DYI procudures for mods(like the speed sensor bypass mod so nav can be used by passenger, etc).

Unless I'm missing something FA doesn't seem to have these sections. You need to search every time you have a question. Further more FA's search engine is weak. You can't even search just on topic. I've spent way more time doing searches than I could have with a the proper interface (probably a matter of indexing). This forum doesn't have that limitation.

Also, how many times have you seen good suggestions made on FA only to have them completely ignored time and again. The default search duration is a great example.

Over on http://www.twinturbo.net, there are pretty good FAQ and tech sections so that newbies don't ask the same things over and over and oldies can also refer to them when they forget details.

That's a great idea but where do we start? If you got suggestions on topics/issues to post, I'll start working on them. We do have how-to and write up sections which hasnt been very active due to lack of ideas/input.
im thinking we should check our user agreements before "snarfing" info from FA, im sure they are trolling over here :)
