Just finished my shift and learnt some (what could be) disturbing news.
I Dive for the Constables Dept. and regularly patrol with them.

I got a DPS ticket last october (my first EVER speeding ticket). Anyway, we think maybe the DPS have gone totally FULL ON.

To date 4 officers in our precinct have received tickets.
A Constable himself from another precinct.
4 Sherriffs officers
2 Commissioners.
And thats just who we know of locally.

Now, granted, if you break the law you can expect to pay the price. But fellow officers etc., well I need not say more.

Just be CAREFUL out there boys and girls :)

Wow, things must have gotten out of hand if DPS officers aren't cutting their brothers and sisters in law enforcement a break. Usually officers cut off duty officers a break as a professional courtesy. When off duty cops blatantly break traffic laws at a high rate in someone elses jurisdiction the bosses usually tell the line staff that any cop pulled over is to get a ticket no questions asked. Sounds like Texas DPS was pulling over way to many off duty cops and decided that enough was enough.

Care to guess what I do for a living?

Stay safe Dakine.
