just joined the board in hopes that i could find some more information here...

i bought my fx45 in march. recently i've begun to have an annoying problem with my radio and have already left my dealer for the first time (i'm sure of many to come) disatisfied.

with hard braking or accelerating (auto volume leveling on OR off) the sound from the DRIVER's side door vanishes and sound only comes from passenger side. when balanced to the LEFT all that is heard is muffled or distorted audio from the drivers side. upon hard braking or accelerating the sound returns. sometimes also happens with sharp turning.

dealer at first could not reproduce the problem (typical) and i had to return to show them, without leaving the parking lot. i was told i had a short in the right driver door speaker and the item was supposedly replaced. wires and connections were said to be checked.

picked up the car today in a rush on the way to work and guess what??? problem NOT fixed.

anyone else heard anything like this? if the item was truly replaced i'm thinking the problem could be in the radio since the display on my nav occassionally resets itself from audio display to HVAC.

any help would be appreciated.

thanks.

Welcome to the board!

Definitely sounds like a bad connection somewhere. Did they check the connections to the headunit, speaker and the amp (in the hatch area)? I'd definitely go back and tell them to check it again and replace whatever needs to be replaced.

Good luck.

welcome vlad....

how's the sport muffler working for ya????? i hope you like it well enough!! (i sure did...)

i would do jus waht ujmot said; go back, and simply print them a summary (i use bullet points) of the situation.....

ex) what the prob is, the onset of it, the frequency of it, what corrects it, how long the 'fix' lasts, and so on.....

then add a small timeline of what they have tried, and the results of their efforts......

they should attach this sheet to your workorder.....

sounds a bit anal, but you want/deserve results......

go for it!

Did you ever get a fix for this. My wife's FX is having what sounds like *exactly* the same problem. Left speakers go out or become muddled under hard braking. I think turning has caused it too. The dealer replaced an amplifier and has now ordered me a head unit.

This is the third post I've seen on this forum talking about the same problem (left speakers cutting out).
