Just wondering what you guys think about powder coated rims, maybe a color to contrast or match body color. If anyone knows how to photoshop please color black fx with matching rims so I can see how it looks.

actually I like anodized rims but not willing to pay $7000 for a set of rims. powdercoating is a cheap alternative but I would like to see how the stock rims would look. I know that look is not for everyone but I think it looks sportier http://www.imagestation.com/album/?id=4 ... ion_page=Y

I've used up all my Photoshop playtime today so maybe esemes or someone can whip one up.

I must be too old to appreciate the style because the cars I've seen like that always look like they lost their hubcaps. I do like it when just the rims are done. $7K is a outrageous if that's what it really costs to get a set.

its easy; as long as you have a good thick base of spray polish (like honda pro cleaner, or...) on it....

just srpay-n-wipe weekly (or daily...)lol

Theres a company in California that can do a proccess called "black chrome", I think. Its about $250 a wheel and it includes the center cap. I was inquiring about black anodizing the stock rims, he said it was very exspensive and recommend this instead.

I agree. I've never been a fan of the import scene using dark rims. Spending so much for them and having them blend into the wheel well and tires and not be able to make out the style seems like a waste. You can't tell if they are on steel spares or expensive aftermarket rims.

That m5's wheels look good to me, but I think it's because the distance between the spokes is large enough that I can see the huge brakes through them. This is enough to keep the whole wheel from looking like a black abyss or a car missing a hubcap.
