Just got Tein Flex coilover for my Lexus SC400, very high quality.

I've seen people asking for "coilovers" for the FX; which part will they replace, and what's the benefit over what they're replacing?

The main benefit of coilover is you can adjust the ride height. But I found that coilover is not for everyday driving. I had coilover on my previous BMW E39 and it made her handle like a Go kart. It was great for weekend trackday but too harsh and stiff for daily driving. Plus because they are so stiff, everything panels inside the car will start to rattle.

Tein Flex has the following features:

1. Adjustable ride height
2. Adjustable pre-load (this is a great feature)
3. Adjustable dampening (16 settings)

I also bought the EDFC, an electronic controller box which controls 4 servos mounted on top of the coilovers. This allows on-the-fly dampening adjustment from inside the car while driving, pretty cool. On the softest setting, the ride should only be slightly siffer than stock, but on 16, we are probably talking shopping cart.
