Well, I had been using my iPod on my FX for a long time, a couple days ago, I pulled it out to listen to it, and it died after ten minutes of play time, I tought I might need to charge it, so I did, but the same happened again, I realized the battery was not working anymore, so now I have to replace it with a new one. Has anyone had this problem before? I was thinking of buying a used iPod just for the car...

What generation iPod do you have? I think there is a hack to replace the battery, I have seen it on some of the iPod forums.

iPODs are notorious for having batterys that dont last. i even heard that you cant replace the battery or that it costs 1/3 of what the iPOD iself.

i suggest 2 things for potential iPOD buyers:

(1) dont get a mini....they are riddled with glitches where you nee dto reset it all of the time ot the battery will just die after 15 minutes and then last the full time the next charge.

(2) get a replacement contract on it at circuit city (or whereever offers one) and USE IT to get a new one since you are (a) going to have a dead battery before the contract is up , or (b) soon after..so break the thing before the contract is up and renew it ;)

other than that, its a cool toy to have :)

iPod

Its a 3rd Generation, I had it replaced once under warranty, but I wonder if the one I got had a brand new battery on it?!?! But anyways, I found a "Do-It-Yourself" kit online for 29 bucks, I might just get that... http://www.macresq.com[/url]

Check out this place:

You can get a replacement battery for $29.00. The instructions make the job appear to be a no-brainer...this is what I plan to do when my 4G battery craps out!!
