I put one on my C5 because I was running it hard. In day to day driving, you would probably not experience a lot of backup in the unit. You would hope not at least.

The first time I opened it after a run, I was shocked at what I found.

The system does work, but again, unless you are doing the quarter mile or auto xing, it would be just purdy under the hood.

Here is a picuture of my oil filter (I know, it should be black), not pretty but very functional. I'm not into dressing up my engines other than trying to keep it clean. The filter is a mini air compressor water and oil seperator with 2 3/8" barbed fitting threaded into it. Total cost is around $15, can't beat the price and it is extremely effectively. Just need to empty it at every oil change (all depends on how hard you drive). The amount of oil you see in the picture is a around 1000 miles, not much at all.

Not bad at all. Guess that confirms that the catch DOES need to go on that side of the engine, in-line with the PCV valve.

Where can I get the parts to make one of those (mind posting a how-to?)? That looks much more economical than a shiny $80 can.
