Nice!
Sure looks slick.
OK how much is it ?$?$?$?$?
so would this be equal to / better than the V5 crawford?
Well, seeing that is not available until November, no one knows.

Kintetix, thought they were better and they replace a lot due to cracking. They are still trying.

I am pretty sure, but the crawfords have not had any problems. Look at the differece between the APS and the crawford.

more "lift" in front which was orig. intent + tried and true, agreed. Dawn, if you were starting your engine mod path now vs. 6 mos. ago, would you choose same path? keep in mind i am looking to benefit in mpg dept. first , while adding hp secondly. (stillen vs. injen CAI primarily) Would you even consider FI [stillen vs. ati] or is that strickly more of a hp mod only? thanks. ...it's been on my mind lately.
Well, first of all, this car is a gift to myself.
This is the nicest car I ever owned and is my daily driver. Being that I'm self-employed, money is a factor for me.
I never realy considered FI.... well ok maybe for a minute right after I thought about getting a 45. :D

I would do it again in the same order.

1. Z-tube and Stillen Intake = cheap mod, easy diy, helped mpg instantly, and the engine seems to run way happier.

2. V5 pleunum = makes the most sense to do and the engine seems to breath even better.

3. Crank Pulley = this is just a mod, really don't need, but it did add to that "throw you back in your seat" aspects.

I don't know anything about Injen but it looks nice and shiney.
I do know the that Stillen Intake is a lot cheaper now, then when I bought in Dec. of 03.

If someone was offering to put a supercharger on my car for free, I would not hesitate. :D

thanks, eom should be interesting when mgfr gets together with davesnelling & co. , comparisons - stillen/injen etc.etc. ...maybe no Z-tube needed with injen's cai / save$ offset higher cost. = zoom zoom cheetah!

Yup, stay tuned! :D

What are the rwhp results of each of these mods? I am especially curious about the pleunum and why I am asking here (not trying to hijack). Like you, I would hate spending money on mods for them not to net good bang for the buck results. Is the pleunum really worth the $400 or so investment?

Thanks!
I think so.

It just makes sense to make the engine breath easier.

I can really tell the difference after I added it, but I think it works even better with other intake mods. By itself, you might not notice as big of a difference. Check out the How to section on my plenum install.

For my $1000 spent in mods, was more cost effective for 20 or so hp gained.

IMO intake upgrade should be first.

Thanks for the reply. If and when I start upgrading the FX, I definitely will start with the intake/Cold Air.

I guess I just need to see hard numbers before I drop any $$ on a mod. Like, for example, someone dynoing their FX bone stock then adding a cold air and redynoing to show the gains. Next step they add a pleunum and again redyno. This of course should all be done of a period of time so the ECM can adjust.

In the world of modifing cars (which I have been doing for 10+ years now), I am always very cautious of just moding a car to mod it. I never believe manufactures claims unless they can back it up with proven results (dyno or track). It makes me feel more comfortable with seperating me from my money
Has anyone heard of pricing on the APS yet?
API Preliminary pricing?

I called a stocking dealer in Austin and asked them to get in touch with the factory, in Australia to try and 'weasel' a ballpark price out of them. He said they are half day ahead or behind and it will be tomorrow before he hears from them. The worst that can happen is --- they can say-"we don't know yet". With a little luck, they have already done their marketing and know costs and potential # of sales.
Hopefully..

Hopefully they will offer us an introductory group buy, or if anyone here have any connections, could convince them to offer a group buy before November. I am really reaching.
Dealers in the dark

My guy in Austin (that I called and inquired about the Plenum with), called me on cell, on way home from work yesterday. He said that he spoke with the guys in Australia. Unfortunately they said it will not be available until November-December timeframe. (Website says available in November-not a good sign that they are arready slipping on their dates.) Also no preliminary pricing or even a guesstimate on cost. The sales guy quizzed me about the crawford price and he thinks it will probably be inline with it, but that is all conjecture. RATS! :(
it's end of july - we want to modify NOW! - not middle of winter, they will have to get next years modders $$$ if at all. / good time for Crawford to offer us all a discount / DISCOUNT , more out there now - happy cust. tells others! even when competitor comes later, it hard to overcome happy cust. telling other happy cust.
Merry Christmas

Can you say Merry Christmas? The Injen thingy was a late Fathers day gift to me from my wife. My wife loves this approach- I'm pretty difficult to shop for. And all stocked up onn wine
after your install on the 31st ....lets see if you can / or how long you can wait b4u want to mod the plenum. / aug. '04 or jan. '05!
