I have traded in my 03 Ivory Pearl for an 04 Diamond Graphite/Graphite with no tick, tick, tick, (so far anyways).
As you can see, in the interior pic I already have a seat wrinkle

Here's some pics right after a full detail with Zymol wax.

Also include a pic of the newly installed body side moldings!

I think that I am liking the side moldings. I had them on my Garnet G35 (sold for the FX).

How are they applied? Double-sided foam tape on the moldings?

Are they cut at right angles or is there a slight angle to them? I'm curious because it looks like the one on the left rear passenger door is sort of angled the wrong way... (may be an optical illusion).

I assume you ordered them from Grubbs, since I didn't think they were available from Infiniti...

The DG was my second choice, just couldn't resist black...

Yes, they are installed with double-sided 3M tape. Two strips run the length of each molding.

They are also angled at the appropriate ends. Basically a 45 degree angle at the front of the driver and rear door to allow the door to open without catching the edge of the molding. The other ends are right angles.

Yes, orded them from Grubbs. Prior to install, I had gotten a door ding exactly where the molding would have been installed. Even so, I like the look of the moldings because they door panels are huge and it breaks it up for me.

How much did those door edge guards cost? I'm very interested in getting some because I got a substantial ding in both passenger side doors (at the same time, I might add) about a month after I got my FX. Did you do the install yourself? What about the color matching? I have the DG with willow. Did you have to take the guards to the dealer to be painted?

Any more info you can give would be great.

Thanks a lot!

Here is another thread about the moldings: Body side moldings.

In essence, the moldings are not cut as illustrated above and are generally a good quality. The rounded ends are poorly finished but some owners find them acceptable. The color match is reported to be very good and you install them yourself. They cost about $150 plus shipping/tax. You can buy them from Grubbs Infiniti in Dallas, Texas. I have not purchased them.

I had some quality issues wit the moldings from Grubbs. I recommend calling Dawn Enterprises Inc. directly at 800-548-4867 for a quote. They made the Grubbs moldings and have already done the paint mixing on all the FX colors, so they shouldn't have a problem matching yours.
Tell them that you have seen rough cuts on their product sold by Grubbs and want better finishing than that to be satisfied with the product. They can help. Nice people to work with. Will you save money? Don't know, but why not ask. Its' always better to go to the source.
I have a beautiful set of moldings from them.

:D I thought all 04s had the polished rails? I like the black ones better, but just curious.

They come with the sport package, otherwise you get the black.

Too bad the diamond graphite is not avaliable here, but its a great color. Do the door guards come painted? I think I might get a set the next time I go back to the states.

Regarding the seats, I have gotten mine replaced already but its still wrinkling, anyone have any better ideas then replacing the seats every few months?

Yeah, after a few months it got preety wrinkly and the dealer replace the bottom part of the seat to remove the wrinkle, but even with the replacement, there is still a small wrinkle on it.

Did they replace it with the same type of material as before? The willow appears to be a softer leather than some of the other colors (although I'm probably mistaken) and I definitely like the look of the perforated leather better than the non-perforated.[/quote]

Yes they replaced it with the same material. I wish they can change the leather to the same quality as other colors. My friend has the black with brick and he does not have this problem at all.
