I think the fx50 and fx50s were the only models to get akebono brakes

vehicles with the sport package get a different quilted leather for seating, I think all of the fx50 models got this

I've owned a g37 and currently have a 2012 fx50s. the v8 sounds SO much better but the power is a complete waste in the city. I think the bigger wheels really make the vehicle stand out compared to the 18's

my 2012 fx shows tire pressure for each wheel, where my 2009 g37 (and I assume any 2009 fx) only shows a dummy light for low pressure somewhere

The FX37 was a new powertrain for 2009 so I think I would pass and go with 2010 or 11 and up on that one to avoid the initial bugs. The FX35 stopped production in 2008 so if you find one tagged as 2009 it's probably a left over. Perfectly fine but quite outdated. My choice would be the FX50 but, again, not the 2009 as it was also a new powertrain for 2009.

this might be a regional thing; in canada there are a lot of fx35s with the 2nd gen body style. I think they started being sold as fx37 in 2012 or 2013
Thinking of it now, I think you're right. They introduced the new body style first and changed the engine later. I think the Europeans got the 37 right away but it didn't come to the North American model until 2012.
