It is has started and I only just made the appointment.

Broke down and made the appointment to take her in for TSBs and OMG :!:

Here is my list, with the sevice guys answers:

Q. Fix TSB on the window trim A. "There are no window trim problems"

Q. TSB Air Bag Timing A. "Okay"

Q. TSB Brake Calabers A. "Never heard of that one"

Q. Check brake pads sometimes they feel rough A. "Oh, they are just fine"

Q. Tire Rotation A. "Yep"

Q. 7500 mile check-up, I already did oil and filter A. "okay not sure what else will be done "

Q. TSB on rocking seat, just to make sure it is tighten A. "I dont understand why, have not heard of that"

Q. No wash A. "I cant put that in the computer"

And he will make sure there is a loaner for me.

And for me to bring these TSB print outs since he has no idea what I am talking about.

I am overcome with fear that "My baby" will come back in horrible condition.

I have to wait untill Thursday to take her in.

Thanks for letting me vent.

And I seem to recall that he is your closest dealer at 50 miles away (and the next closest is 100s of miles away). Why can't he look up the TSBs? Perhaps you could fax him the TSBs and get a comittment before you go in. That way if he hedges on them then you can contact Infiniti consumer affairs.

Good luck!

They are actually 100 miles away (to get there).

Next closest is Phoenix or Dallas. Go Figure

Faxing them is a great idea. :D

Have him call Thousand Oaks Infi in Thousand Oaks, CA if he's got any FX questions- they're on the ball about all this stuff related to the FX (and I'm gonna AssUMe that there's way more FXen sold in SoCal than in West Bumfsck, NM where you live :) so they'd be more proficient with other problems.)

Hello Sweet

Here are a couple things I do when I take my wifes FX in.

First is I have a sign I print up on the computer that says, "DO NOT WASH THIS CAR!". I put this on the dash so that even a dumbest of lot boys can see it and figure it out. No one washes my vehicles except me.

At least at the dealer I go to, when they have you sign for the loaner car, they have the little diagram with any dents/scratchs on the loaner car identified. I make them fill out the same form for my car. They are not happy to do this, but so far have complied.

Hope that helps and best of luck.

That's a great idea about filling out a diagram for your car. I am going to do this the next time I get a loaner. You **** right they waste my time with their piece of crap loaner, then I'll waste there's with my FX. That's the best idea I've heard in a long , long time.

I'm all over this one!

Well, today is the day.

Got all my print-outs for them and made my "do not wash" sign and the camera.

I let my husband take her in cuz I know I could never hand over the key fob. :(

My trim looks so bad this morning, it is now kinda hazzy looking and tons of spots. Keeping my fingers crossed on a full replacement.

Thanks

Sweet good luck on your service.

I guess living in a small island is preety lucky, as for service, my dealer calls me and schedules all updates and recalls that needs to be done, once the appointment is made, they usually come to my office and pick up my FX. The good thing is that I usually get my car back the same day before I get off from work.

Well in Asia these cars cost more than what they would cost in the states, so with the better service in that department makes me feel a little better. Even at Mercedes Taiwan they do the same service.

Here is what happened today...

1. TSB Air Bag Timing: Done
2. TSB Brake Calabers: Done
3. Check brake pads: Fine
4. Tire Rotation: Done cost of $43.00
5. 7500 mile check-up: Done
6. TSB on rocking seat: Parts ordered
7. No wash: yep did not wash

The service manager was kind of being a jerk. read on...

My husband just pulled on to the highway in the loaner and a rock hits the windshild and chips it. He turns around and goes back. Ends up they will not accept fixing the chip. They want the windshild to be replaced and now I get a claim on my car insurance. Wonderful. This should now cost me min of $100.00. Now I get to deal with the insurance company. My husband was just trying to be honest and it justs bites us in the ass.

And now the window trim. This just pisses me off.
The service manager decided that someone tried to break into my car by prying a one inch section of window trim with a screw driver. So they wont fix it cuz TSB dosent apply. Come on.
If someone was to trying to break in why would they pry the trim not the window. If it was a break in, that is why I have insurance. I guess in their eyes we are some slimmy criminals trying to pass one over on them and that is the way the service manager acted. My trim has been doing funky things since I got the car, besides being hazzy now and that section starting to warp. So of couse they put it into the computer as break-in damage. WTF Now I get to deal with that stupid 1-800 number to argue about this.
Why do dealershps act this way on an $80 fix. (price quoted for that part)
**** I just bought them a new windshield.

Will keep everyone posted on this.

Well at least my car got to come home.
Jerks.
Ok I feel better now NOt

do these dealerships have a class on how to be idiots? their behavior seems to have a consistent pattern...

hey Sweet, how about developing a dealer rating system like they do on other auto forums? it can atleast provide valuable insight to prospective FX buyers....

i hope the dealer rating system can get done for the FX. the MINI site is a great example. it's been documented that their dealer rating system contributed to changes in dealer behavior and has even initiated a couple of major recall campaigns resulting from members' complaints.
