I'd say you're a bit optimistic on your finish time.

Last month, I had a week off and spent four days solid cleaning, clay bar-ing, swirl removing and applying six coats of Zaino (8 on the hood). Two days were Zaino application (1 day Z5, 1 day Z2). That's full body application, followed by 30 min dry time, removal, Z6 wipe down, have a beer and start it all over. With a few beer and food breaks, these were 8-9 hour days, and I'm not a slow worker. After that, I was about to institutionalize myself. I never EVER want to do that again, so I'm making sure to maintain the finish well, adding another coat monthly. Black is a b!tch. :(

oh by the way, i just got a claybar from zaino

it said to mix the zaino soap with water as lubrifiant for the claybar...

or

should I use the Z-6 as the lubrifiant?

water is fine. Just the Clay should never "grab" it should be like you are just rubbing it on top of the FX. If you drop it on the ground.TOSS IT OUT.

YOU can wash it with something like DAWN and it will strip everything off, then zaino it up. Dont get in a hurry. Take your time. Top down and front to back :D No wax on wax off..

Z6 is WAY too expensive to use for this purpose (and plain water doesn't work for crap; I've tried). I use Johnson & Johnson liquid baby soap (very little mixed with water in a spray bottle). It is PH balanced and very mild so that you can clay bar without stripping your existing Zaino completly off. I got this idea from my clear bra installer, who uses 3M clay and always clays the surfaces prior to clear bra install. They use a different agent to strip any waxes before install, then clay bar with the soap formula for a smooth, clean finish. You can usually just wipe the area clean with a microfiber cloth or use a little Z6 to get any remaining soap residue off. I do a full wash or at least a thorough rinse and dry after doing the clay to make sure the paint is perfectly clean and free of any residue before beginning to apply Zaino.

Heh, heh... Told ya. It only gets slower in subsequent coats as your arms fatigue. Zaino is an @ssload of work, but it sure is purdy.

Ya know, this isn't a very good endorsement for Zaino.
the after effects (pics) speak volume, however.....

i am three (four on the hood) coats deep on my G now, but not zaino... (meg. gold class)
