Here are some pics of it. Didn't know OEM part could be so good. Def. seems like a cheaper and viable alternative to an aluminum overpriced pos intake.

Don't reset the ECM; I didn't and it was just fine. If anything, just avoid WOT for a few days and let it adjust, but you probably don't even need to do that.

is that part off a 350z? if so, what's the part# and how much? thanks, rich
yes it is from the Z. runs about 90 bucks and you need to "extend" it a few inches for the FX since the engine sits further back. a bunch of folks just cut their stock FX accordian piece and this is what i am going to do as well. you can get one at any parts place that sells parts for the Z or dealers like grubbs

It runs for 75 bucks.

I got mine for 50 from a 350Z owner.

Some fellows on the G35 forum gained 5-6HP just by changing out their stock intake tube for the Z-tube. These values were confirmed because they were done on a G35 Dyno Day.

Other than that they will make ur intake sound a bit louder since you're removing the stock resonators which are part of the intake tube.

The 5-6 HP is probably quite optimistic but very possible by the way. Don't believe everything you read!

It's a great mod for the price. Couple it with a PopCharger or a Stillen Intake and you're gonna love the sound ur car makes above 4K RPM! :p

this is more of a "fun to do" and "cool sound" mod than anything. you will probably get 6-10 HP at peak with both the tube and cold air intake. over the main RPM range it looks like youll have about 2 HP gain. really i found that it smooths out the acceleration and definately a PULL once you get over about 4000 rpm.

i think if you couple it with a new plenum that combo of the three will give you more of a noticable gain throughout the rpm range

Agreed Brad--

as with mostdecent apps'. , they work best in combo. with other similar (or designed) mods...... (plenum breathes better into the head, from a revised intake tract, with less baffles....)

I just installed the Z-Tube yesterday. It's the first modification I've made where I have a benchmark to compare before and after. I did all my other modifications within two weeks of getting the car last fall.
There is quite a noticeable difference in sound and acceleration. I definitely notice it's got more kick from a dead stop and I also notice that at about 4000, she really lets loose now.
Couple that sound with my custom dual system and I couldn't be happier with what this modification has added to the whole system.

Quite pleased!
