First it was the DVD that I've been waiting more than two months on and spent 12 calls trying to resovle and now it's their service department.

When I took delivery of my FX on Oct. 1st I noticed that the steering wheel was sticky. I thought nothing of it and figured I could clean it. Well I tried unsuccessfully with Lexol and another cleaner. I took it back to the dealer and they couldn't clean it so the manager told me that she would get approval and would order one in.

Well two weeks later she gets approval and orders the steering wheel. Another 2 weeks go by and I drop my car off to have it replaced. Apparently the Fixed Operations Manager was in and he took a look at my car and said they would not replace it.

Here's what's wrong with it exactly:
The wheel where you put your right hand is sticky and makes your hand sticky after driving. It looks like some adhesive there as there is slight discolouration of the steering wheel. There is also now a small chip from the aluminum spoke missing.

This was a typical case of blame the customer. Apparently, they questioned whether I had some hand cream on that could have caused it. In Infiniti's eyes, it's not bad enough. Easy for them to say when they didn't spend that much money on it and they don't have to drive it everyday.

I'm calling the Fixed Operations Manager myself tomorrow morning. And if he says now I'm going above him until I get this replaced. This is unacceptable on a Neon let alone an Infiniti.

Rant off.

Some dealers suck - some don't. I scratched up my alumunin center console piece and asked them to order me a new one. They installed and said they would warranty it. Also, pulled off my door panel to pad behind it to get rid of "styrofoam on metal" sound and broke off some of the panel clips. I called my advisor and she said to drive over and she would grab me some new clips. She gave me a handful from the body shop in order to avoid going thru parts and having them price out clips at .05/each.

My dealership is Alta in Woodbridge. My sales person there is amazing and she went to argue the case for me.

The service manager is having a leather specialist come in tomorrow to see if there is anything he can do. My sales person advised me to let this happen and if he can't fix my wheel then we can tell Nissan Canada that even a pro can't fix it.

It's frustrating when the dealer tries to blame the customer because in this case I did nothing wrong. So I will give them until tomorrow before I call the person above the service manager.

Any advice on who else I can talk to or what else I can do to get a replacement?

If they end up fixing the steering wheel they will no doubt need to dye it. Plus, the chip in the aluminum trim will still be there.
