Just thought I'd drop a note to the forums. I took my FX50 in for an oil change last week, complained that I was getting rust around the center caps on my 1 year old wheels, and later that day they advised me Infiniti approved 4 new wheels! I'm going back in this week to get them all replaced. Excellent service.
My guess looking at the rust is that the center cap is so tight on the wheel that water gets behind it and cannot escape. The rust starts behind the center cap and creeps out under the clear coat. If you see black dots around the center cap on the wheel - that is rust....take it to the dealer while you can!

sounds a bit odd, I tho all fx oem wheels are alloys / aluminum. i'm on enkei 21's, no issues here. could it be brake dust that might caused the rust?

maybe the rust is coming from the wheel hub area ...
