New member to the infinitifx.org forum..

expecting imminent arrival of my FX45.. in Tokyo.. its a grey import, canadian model (for its kilometre speedo!), black with charcoal leather..

japanese bureacracy aside there is a chance it may be registered (a lengthy process which includes "proving" you have/own a parking space) and delivered this weekend..

the purpose of this post is to thank all forum members for their posts.. after my test-drive, i came home found this forum and worked my way through many many of the postings.. the enthusiasm for the FXs and the fact there seem to be few/any problems sealed the deal, so thank you one and all..

Home Sweet Home!

Congrats with the FX :D

I hope you can influence some of the aftermarket dealers there, since we need aftermarket parts here.

Welcome.

I'm sure people over there would love to see your FX. When I went to a Japanese grocery store here, few guys came to me and were complaining about the fact that they couldn't get FX in Japan.

Just be careful with those narrow roads there.

Hi TokyoFX...Did you get yours from Bubu?

I've only ever seen 1 on the streets here in Japan, but I know there are a few around.

My father came very close to getting a 45 earlier on this year. After a few hard decisions he decided not to get it for a few reasons, mainly that half of the cool toys don't work in Japan (not even the radio!) and that it would have been prohibitive to insure and run in Italy (where he would have shipped it after leaving Japan). Good news is that a 2005 FX35 might be the better option for him...but we are having a few other problems with trying to spec a sports package with 20" wheels on a non-tech from canada! Why do they make it so hard for people to build the best spec for themselves!

Anyway I would love to see your FX. When do you get it? Oh and good luck with the registration. Hope it doesn't take too long!

finally catching up on some "to-dos" after a week away.. and there are a fair few posts to respond to.. apologies for my 'tardiness'..

the car was delivered on the 4th june.. took it straight off on a nice gentle 500km round trip to the bottom of the izu peninsular (south-west of tokyo) and a place called shimoda (history buffs check out http://www.japan-guide.com/e/e6301.html) for the weekend.. nice introduction to the car, good 'running-in' and a great drive.. since then only driving to work everyday, out to the airport to collect friends (very impressed), oh and one trip to Costco.. yes, Costco.. they have that here.. very useful indeed.. the car has had its first service and check (at about 1200kms).. new oil, new filter.. general check.. everything in prime working order.. summer is well into its stride here, so we shall be doing a few more trips down to shimoda and the 'beach', but also venturing north and north west into the 'japanese alps' to escape the summer heat and humidity.. very much looking forward to those drives.. particuarly since i faithfully followed ak1nza's instructions for hooking up an MP3 player and now have a stereo jack in the central compartment to connect my Ipod to.. fantastic..

particlefx.. apologies for no photos as yet.. they will be forthcoming.. as soon as i have a camera in the car with me when its all shiny and new looking and i figure out somewhere "tokyo" or "japan" like to take a picture in front of..

fromheretoinfiniti.. and beyond? any idea where the factory actually is? i got as far as here http://www.nissan.co.jp/INFO/FACTORY/ but havent gone further in my research.. yet.. maybe a photo outside the factory gates would be a good one to post?? :)

my-sweet45.. no comments as yet.. although the owner of a black Lexus RX320, known as a Toyota Harrier here, actually got out of his a car at a traffic light, walked round 3 cars to the front of mine, pulled out his mobile phone and took a couple of pictures saying "sugoi, sugoi" which means "wow, great" that kind of thing.. but he didnt let on if he knew exactly what he was taking a picture of.. the lights changed too quick to try and enter into any conversation with him.. which would have been short at best with my japanese..

infx35.. i will endeavour to ask around whenever i get the chance and see what i can dig up as far as after mkt parts is concerned.. the 'fairlady' seems to be appearing on the streets here with more and more mods.. so there should be some bits for the '35', although as for the '45' I am really not sure, although the dealer from whom i purchased the car is 'looking into it'.. dont hold your breath though.. sorry.

topguy.. 'narrow' roads.. YES.. very narrow, very careful!

esemes.. 'pop-out headlight washers'.. no idea you could get them, so no havent got'em..

DCD.. car came via http://www.goose-neck.com/ yamaguchi-san.. couldnt have been more helpful or easy to deal with.. tech vs. non-tech was an easy decision.. whilst i would have loved the key-less entry, the camera etc, i wasnt paying for satnav that wouldnt work here.. and as good as satnav systems are here.. i rarely find the need to use them.. what can i say? i'm 'old-school'.. give me a map and i am happy.. and yes i get lost loads of times here.. hahaha.. but never lost lost.. just a little awry from time to time.. as for the radio.. it works fine.. they fit an FM 'modulator' (probably the wrong tech term actually), but basically it 'jumps the FM band up or down.. like a transformer.. then your radio can pick up local radio no problem using the OEM stereo.. same when you ship the car abroad from here.. you just fit the relevant FM modulator unit to be able to tune into the local radio of your destination.. i have some experience shipping cars to the UK, which has always been straightforward, but unfortunately no idea with shipping to Italy.. I have half a mind to ship this FX to Spain in about 2 years.. but we shall see.

I hope I've answered all the posted questions, yell if I missed you.. and thank you to all those others for their congratualtions.. I am very pleased with the car, it rocks.. as you all know
