Did all these lock actuators fail at the same time or just one at a time? If it's all at the same time, I'm wondering if it's something else... or 1 affecting all 3...

The rear passenger-side started first. It would intermittently lock/unlock using the key fob or the door switch. A few months after, the gas cap actuator went which led to the discovery of the access panel. Then, the front passenger went sometime after. I know, it seems like they are all related since they're all on the same side of the vehicle. I'm tempted to take it to the stealership but I'm sure they won't say it's an electrical thing but that the actuators have gone bad. Also, I'm out of warranty and they'll likely charge their hourly rates. At this point, I'll just replace the actuators and hope for the best. The rest of the vehicle is exceptional, though.

What were the Part numbers they gave you for the actuators?

I'm having the same problem with my front passenger door and rear door (behind the driver). I went to the dealer to get a quote for the parts and labor and they told me $360.00. I figured that was allot of money for what seemed like a simple job so i ask about the cost for parts and they told me $97.40 for each one.

Only question i got now is are those the right part number, cause you guys are getting robbed by the dealer in the states.

Part numbers are as follows:

011N/80500-CG00A
011N/82501-CL00A

Hopefully they are the same that they quoted you guys.

Sorry for the late reply. I don't frequent here much.
The stealership did not really give me a part number, only the prices. I think they really do not want to give the actual part numbers to prevent sourcing from other parts resellers. I haven't actually done anything due to the prohibitive cost.

Did you go ahead and fix your locks? If you don't mind, can you share where you bought your parts and maybe I can buy the parts there? Thanks.

So it seems like I've been hit with the bad actuators bug. I'm having problems with the side passenger door and the rear hatch. :(
My question is, what part or parts do I need to buy to get this fixed. My mechanic checked with the "stealership" and they wanted an arm and a leg.
I found two parts here: http://www.trademotion.com/partlocator/ ... atalogid=2

Do I just need the "W/smart entry sys. Left" part? Will that fix the rear hatch too?

Also, Infiniti of Scottsdale don't have any parts listed ( guess they want all your info first ). Do they have better prices there?
I saw these prices posted in this thread...are they the same parts?
Infiniti FX35 Lock Actuators
1. Front Passenger: $154.22
2. Rear Passenger: $179.25
3. Gas Cap $59.05

I too am having trouble with the cargo hatch and passenger door. The vehicle is a 2005 and this problem appeared August, 2009. I was troubleshooting and found something very strange. Has anyone else noticed that if you do a lock/unlock more than 5 or 6 times in a row then ALL of the locks stop working? Waiting about 15 seconds fixes the issue and they start working again. Is this an unrelated issue?

Can someone tell me if these parts look legit? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayI ... 0371972757

Infiniti Fx35 POWER DOOR LOCK MOTOR Actuator locks - $9.99

This is a universal door lock actuator. It will operate any door lock that uses rod connectors. This is all vehicles except some brand new cars that have gone to cable locks. I have the adapters that will connect these to cable locks if you have cable locks.
This is obviously a substantial savings but I don't want to waste my time - can someone who has replaced the actuator please chime in and tell me if you think this would work? I'm actually right up the street from Infiniti of Scottsdale incidentally. If anyone is in Arizona and would like to make some extra cash installing this please email me, anthony "at" anthonymorreale "dot" com !

Those are generic cheapo actuators. Ive installed hundreds of them.

But they will not work easily on the FX as it is cable driven. It is possible if you have skills with these things, but not for the average joe.

You can use the cable adapter kits like this one http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Omega-DL ... dZViewItem but they can be difficult and you have to modify the oem cable so if it doesnt work out right or stops working and/or you want to go back to oem you have to now buy a brand lock actuator assembly anyway.

An installer would have the best chance of getting these in and working right. I have done quite a few and they are a pain in the ass. Add in the cheapo actuator which isnt too reliable and you may be in for headaches.

I mean the part is $181 new http://www.infinitipartsusa.com/partloc ... atalogid=0 . Yeah a bit more, but the right part. I'd try and find a used oem actuator assembly. Junkyard, ebay. Even on my own FX, I wouldnt put in an aftermarket actuator. I'd try to find a used one.

that's a huge help. I will try to ebay a used part or try to hit a junkyard. The problem with the junkyard is that I have no idea how to get to the part. ignorance is not an excuse so I will look for instructions either from alibaba0101's post or another source.

Does each door and cargo hatch have its own unique actuator?

well actually im having the same problem with three of my doors. My passenger door and both rear doors.
What year is your FX? This scares the crap out of me hearing that 3 would go simultaneously. Mine's an 08 so I hope if they are going to go, they'll go under warranty. I don't have close to the skills required to fix them myself!

Mine Too

My Driver Side Door and now the Passenger door have gone bad, same with a friend who has the same car. Could this be a class action lawsuit to force infiniti to fix these things for free. Never done that sort of thing, but it seems like we could petition the company with a bunch of owner names and maybe they're agree to fix problem. (I doubt it but worth a try maybe?)

You are only seeing 2 because the link posted was for the back doors. You need to look thru the catalog and select the door you need. All 5 doors have different motors/assemblies. There are actually 7 parts that are listed for all the doors:

Rear Hatch: http://www.infinitipartsusa.com/partloc ... atalogid=0

Rear Doors (seperate left and right): http://www.infinitipartsusa.com/partloc ... atalogid=0

Front Doors WITHOUT TECH (seperate left and right): http://www.infinitipartsusa.com/partloc ... atalogid=0

Front Doors WITH TECH (seperate left and right): http://www.infinitipartsusa.com/partloc ... atalogid=0

I've had the same problems as everyone and when the only door left working was my driver's side, I had to replace at least the front passenger. After I replaced the front passenger, the rear passenger door behind it started working too. I'm guessing the actuator from the front helps power the rear one a little bit? Well if you can, try replacing the front one first and see if the back one starts working too before you replace it. My rear driver's side still isn't working but I just reach back there and unlock it manually. Hope this hopes.

It is nice to see some support. My driver-side door lock has been intermittenly working. Anyone with an '05 with the black dash experiencing the bubbles appearing? Happened right about the Nav screen first, then the air vents started, now its out of hand. Infinity said it was a third-party company that created the dash, and they are not liable for it. Some 40k! Also, if anyone is thinking about getting the g-37 convertible, you may want to wait a year or so. Already had issues with the top's hydraulics, and they have to find 1 of 10 people in the world to come fix it. Half the summer in a brand new convertible, not being able to put top down!
