OK, how'd they manage to separate the tape player from the rest of the audio? See pic 2. Everyone here says it can't be done...

I dont think they did. they removed the door, and maybe the bezel in front of the tape mech. The LCD is only an inch thick or less, so it's in front of the tape mech. Of course I'm not sure what they did, but thats what i assume.
