i also added a 6" strip upfront (just to the bottom of the factory dots) and have much less sunset glare (west coast of fl here.....)

The tint looks soooo good. I need to do that asap as well, but being in new mexico you really need a reference, cuz if you to any "jo schmo" they will screw up your car.

Yeah it does! Now everytime I see a FX i want to tell the owner to get the front two windows tinted cuz it just doesnt look right without em that way. how much did it cost you?

I was quoted $95 (Car Boutique) for Llumar tint on the front windows here in the NW Suburbs of Chicago. I gonna wait until spring (warm weather) before getting the tint installed

My fronts were $80 for 20% at Solarworks. No receipt cause it's darker than legal, but the shop's done 5 cars for me now and he knows me.
Definitiely a must for an FX.

BE careful just using a % or ## rule....


although films must meet a standard, id have the installer/shop either gauge it (little battery operated device), or match up visually from the rolls of film they use......

my last car got limo at all windows, (before the 2k3 murano) and it made it excellent, BUT at night undriveable.........

Someone on freshalloy said his tint guy measured the backs at 24.5% I think. 20% goes good though because you get all your light in from the windshield, so it brightens up the front interior more than the back, so it looks about the same.
Ask around to get a good installer and he should be able to give you advice on it.

Did they strip dealer tint or was new tint put on top? Found a shop here in NM but I like to be prepared with answers before i get some b*** s*** lines from them. Was tint % then the same all around or was the back and hatch different?

the tint from the factory is in the glass... theres nothing to remove....


to make a more even match, i went one step lighter on the rears (passengers, little ¼ glass, and hatch)

I had full limo tint ( rear sides and back)when I drove mazda 929... was pulled over 3 times and got ticket once...

for those who got limo tint for their FX... can you guys see anything through rear glass?

In San francisco the cops are hella chill! The cops at my sister's highschool always write off my fix it tickets for me. Never had to worry about getting those.
I usually get these dam tickets in rich neghborhoods outside the city!

I though tint up to 20 percent was legal? aren't you just matchign the back windows? how can it be illegal? You have to look out the back ones when u change lanes etc..

In florida... I can have 28% in front sides and net 15% on back sides and rear.... in california: you can't have any tint in the front sides but you could have any tint in the back sides and rear.... this is what I got from Tint Laws site.....

So what are California's "fix-it" tickets exactly. I've heard it mentioned in regards to not having front licence plates too. Is the ticket simply thrown out if you indeed "fix-it"? It you don't, is there a fine and/or points?

I have 20% all around and it is difficult to see out of the rear when it is raining. I guess thats what the camera is for.

I had 5% all around ^^ with 929... but in FX, i think its darker inside since the rear window is further back....
