I have two fx35s, and a 2010 fx 50. I know they are supposed to idle fast when starting, but the fx 50 idles very fast, almost 2000 rpm, and takes a long time to idle down. I'm in northern AZ, so it's not that cold. I found if I let her run for 30 or 40 seconds and put her in neutral it drops to 1000, so I always do that and give her another minute before going into gear. I also noted the 50 takes a little longer to start than the 35s. It always starts, just turns a little slower and longer. I assumed that may be from the larger engine. So 2 questions, anyone else have a 50 that cold idles at 2000 rpm? And could a failing battery possible cause this (don't know why once she's started, unless the battery is taking a lot of juice to recharge).
