Hi all,

Just placed an order for H&R springs @ Tirerack. Should be available on 08/10/04, shipped on the 11th and delivered via Fed Ex 2 day. I'm hoping I can get them installed that Saturday for my "Big 40th B-Day"! :p

Cost was total $251.11.

I will keep everyone posted regarding the ride quality & yes, I'll post pics!

I'm wondering if 15mm spacers (front) & 20mm spacers (rear) will fit with the drop?

Any feedback will be appreciated. :)

are these equal to , or better than Eibach? why or why not?

I've had experience with both Eibachs and H&R on my Lexus IS300. The Eibachs in my opinion had too much bounce, but the H&R's drop was a little lower than described. The best was my Teins...too bad they don't have any for the FX!

Both springs are good, but I prefer the ride of the H&R's...my 02 :D
Spring decision change...now going with Eibachs.
Why? The reason for the change is that Tirerack doesn't have a clue when the H&Rs will be available...they state the 10th on their website, estimated available on the 11th from my email confirmation, quote from Connor (CSR) on the 12th at time of ordering and now a quote from Connor at the end of the month when deciding to cancel order or not. Well, that did it, so I'm going for the Eibachs. The only downside is that the Eibachs are more expensive...not by much, $35 more. This includes the 2 day Fed Ex Air shipping.

The spacers will most likely take a little longer due to having to have my brother in CA order them from a local speed-shop. Options Auto Salon is out of stock and won't have them until 6 more weeks.

I'm hoping that I can get it all installed by the end of the month! :D

you change your mind the way you change your name. what's it gonna be "dragion" or "infx35". life is easy, don't make it hard!

"Dragion" is what I go by everywhere else, but I had difficulty registering with that name here. I ended up registering with my license plate name 'infx35"instead...that is the reason behind that.

Don't I have the right to change my mind...my wife does it all the time!

If this is about me changing my mind on which lowering springs then...

It's more like my patience is running thin, since Tirerack couldn't make up their minds regarding when the H&R springs will be available. I just don't feel like having my hard earned money sit in limbo while waiting for them to arrive. Since the Eibachs were back in stock and with limit quantity, I jump on them. I've searched the net regarding both the H&Rs & Eibachs and nobody seems to be carrying them in stock.

I would still prefer the H&Rs over the Eibachs.

I think that when the H&Rs settle, the drop will be too low and cause problem due to the 15mm spacers. Plus usually with a drop more than an inch, it could cause camber problems. What I've read so far regarding the Eibachs, they are within stock specs.

Do I really have to explain myself...? :?

I hope this clears things up. :D

What is the advertized drop in the H&Rs compared to the Eibachs?

Now that is weird!

This morning on TireRack's website the Eibachs were 1.2" for both front & rear!

At least from my experience with Eibachs, they don't drop too much lower than advertised. The H&Rs definitely would drop more. On my IS300 they drop close to 2.0"

aka "Dragion" :toothy9:
I agree with your comments about sagging.

Good thing about the EIbachs is that they are pretty much close to the actual drop. Not too much settling.

I have not had H&Rs but I have a friend who did and he said they sagged unevenly over time.

Yeah, odd the back is less than the front in drop too, but that was cut and paste right off of the site.
Well two weeks ago stillen told me that H&R will not be avaliable for another 6 weeks or so. I am running the Eibach right now and I am having problems that why I want to change to H&R.

Jim
all the others using Eibachs are having no probs., in fact they rave about their sucess, please explain your problems, and could it be this specific set (production issue?) hanks.
When I had it installed, every time I turn the steering wheel I feel that there is a movement in the springs. Making a metal on metal sounds and the steering wheel feels like there is movement in the springs.

Jim
Are you sure its not your tires rubbing? I see that your riding on 22's.
Offset will play a large part.
Not the tires rubbing, there is still room for bigger tires and wheels. I think the springs was made a little too short.

Jim
Have you spoken to the place you had it installed regarding the noise?

So far, I've haven't heard of any other cases regarding fitments and I'm sure Eibachs wouldn't release the springs if their was a problem such as this.

I would have your installer check them out and maybe re-install them! Maybe they are not sitting in correctly?

If correct, then maybe you should contact Eibachs directly to find out if this is an isolated problem or a problem with all the springs.

I was wondering why you would be interested in purchasing H&Rs when you had Eibachs already.

When I install mine, I'll see if there is a problem or not.

Since I am having problems with the eibachs right now, I figure I go for a different brand.
