When should one consider an ECU reflash? I want to add hi-flow crawford cats and eventually the headers next year. Is it necessary (reflash) to achieve maximum performance with mods?

Late.

First, I'd contact Technosquare and see what they have to offer for the FX. I know they can do it, but don't know if they've actually done any. Once you add the headers and cats to what you already have, you're likely going to be running pretty lean and re-flash is the way to go. It'll balance out your A/F, add some ponies on it's own and optimize all the mods you have, adding even more power. Time to do it is right after you've added all the bolt-ons you're going to do, otherwise if you add something else, you'll need a new program.

Might also be time to start browsing the engine mods forum of My350Z.com to learn more about all this.
