After pressing the "Set" button, hold down the "M1" or "M2" button for AT LEAST ONE SECOND, or until the green light comes on. You may have to hold the "Set" button for a couple of seconds as well to activate it.Then, you can also program your keyfob to link to your new settings. You do this by simply pressing the unlock button on the keyfob within 5 seconds of hitting the "M1" or "M2" buttons. Essentially, this means pressing the keyfob unlock button before the green light goes off.

Good luck and let us know if it works.
I have a question about this. I have set the M1 to be for me and the M2 to be for my wife (who is considerably shorter than myself). I have tried to assign the M1 to my keyfob as described above. I sit in the car, turn the ignition to on, press the M1 to move the seats to my position and push the unlock button on the keyfob while the green light on button M1 is on (tried both flashing and solid).

But I haven't figured out how to use the keyfob to change the seat positions. Does it do it when I unlock the car with the keyfob? Does it sense my keyfob when I get close to the car? Do I have to have the car in the "on" position to get any response? I haven't had any luck with any of these attempts. I still bang my knees when I get in after my wife, and when I turn the car on, it finishes the punishment by crushing my knees under the steering column.

What am I doing wrong?

Thanks
JJ
I successfully progarmmed mine to work for both me and my SO. The seat will adjust to the correct position when you hit the unlock button. If you were the last person to use the car, the seat will still be in your position until you use your wife's key fob. Then when you use the unlock button you will see the seat moving into position.
So what was the process you used to program it.

Maybe I'm just missing a step or something. I looked through the manual and didn't find it anywhere, so I'm somewhat lost.

Thanks
JJ

This is it.

By "Unlock Button" are you referring to the Intelligent Key button or the "button" on the door handle itself? In other words do you have to have the fob in your hand or can it be in your pocket?

I was referring to button on the fob.
So if you want to use the fob to change driver position, then you must get the fob out and hit unlock? I was hoping the Intelligent Key would recognize the fob and change the seat position automatically when you opened the door. Oh well.
I don't have Intelligent key but I would assume you would just have to have it out to actually program the fob. Once it's programmed it should recognize it even when it's in your pocket and adjust the seat for you.
This is an feature in a non-tech, non-intelligent key car? Are you sure?

There is no visible differentiator in the standard keyfobs (at least not the ones I have). In the past when I've had cars with this feature there is a clearly marked "1" or "2" or some designation on the keyfobs to tell them apart.
I have a non-tech, non intelligent key fob and it works great.

Has anyone with the Intelligent Key confirmed this? I was also unable to locate instructions for this feature in my manual.

Here!
I haven't seen this documented in any of the Infiniti FX owner information. The only place is in the service manual where the following information can be found on SE-12.

Actually, if you ever got one of those Quick Reference Guides it's got something a bit easier to follow. I posted it on the other forum here.
This was the only place where not only the seat memory, but also the key fob programming sequence is listed. The quick ref card and the owner's manual handle the seat memory programming, neither one describes the key fob programming which is why I posted it... :)

I have not been able to confirm this; I did get the Intelligent Key fobs programmed and they work when you hit the unlock button manually, but I have as of yet been unable to confirm recognition when its in my pocket however.
I programmed my intellegent keys yesterday and it seems that it only recognizes the program when you hit the unlock on the key fob. I tried using the door handle for the same result and it didn't work. However, I think the second key may have been within range. I'll try again when I have more time.

Thats what I meant by my being unable to confirm this as well. My IK fobs are programmed and works when the Unlock button is pressed, however the one time I tried the door handle button my wife was with me so both fobs were present. I'll make a test soon (I'll use the seat button to move the seat and then try the door button when only my IK fob is around).
