Brembo brake kit...

I know esemes is patiently waiting for news on this kit.

I finally contacted my friend at NNA (a fellow GT-R owner) and got the message to him... he's relaying it to his friends at Brembo. As far as he currently knows, Brembo has already measured the FX for fitment. He's going to find out when/what availablity.

I would assume it would be at least a 355x32mm floating rotor with a F50 caliper for the front brake kit, but don't quote me on that. I think Brembo will give you the choice of rotor type (slotted, drilled, or both) and caliper color (black, yellow, silver, red, custom?). For my GT-R I chose red... and they look great behind the BBS LM wheels.

Cheers!

Brembos are nice, but overpriced, IMO. Any word on whether or not that Wilwood kit will be produced (big brake thread a bit further down)?
Well, you get what you pay for. After testing over 10 different calipers and complete brake kits for over a decade I'll pay more for Brembo. To each their own! :D
Update-

It's been ordered. I've been told it should be shipped to me before June.

It will be the first Brembo kit for the FX so hopefully I won't have too many fitment issues since it will basically be a pre-production kit.

I've been told if there's a total order of 12 units or more it will become a standard listed kit and others won't have to wait.

Cheers!

You all are bad influence! I want a big brake kit on my FX! :( :D :D
I'm going for 355mm w/ F50 callipers on the GTR. I was thinking of fitting the stock Brembos on my fathers FX....

GTR power...what pads are you using on the GTR...and later on on the FX?

For USCC and track I use Pagid RS14 (Black) pads for both front and rear. FYI Pagid makes two different Black compounds. On the rear I use a Lotus caliper, front uses a F50 caliper, so the pad sizes are quite different from the OEM kit which uses a Lotus caliper up front and a twin piston caliper in the rear. I also use a Stagea MC and Tilton proportioning valves (which have become relatively useless because of the great work Brembo has done in matching up the piston sizes for f/r bias control). ABS has been removed so it brakes like a N1 car- very direct and with good pedal feel.

For the street I use Ferodo DS2500 pads (I think... it's what came with the kits and they are good pads).

For the FX45 I'll use the Ferodo pads on street with the Brembo kit... if I take it to the track I'll pop in a set of the Pagid Black pads. I want a set of shocks/springs first though...

Cheers!
cool, thanks for the reply. Didn't know you also had the Lotus calliper at the back. Jeez your car must have amazing braking performance. I get more excited over suspension and braking upgrades than most engine stuff...

Keep us posted on the FX brake upgrade :)

FYI check out the RB Motoring gallery after USCC this year. I'll have all the "old" pics of my suspension and chassis setup there.

It'll show the F50 fronts, Lotus rears, Ohlins Flag-R shocks, H&R straight rate springs, GAB swaybars, Auto Select bumpsteer elimination kit, adjustable tension rods, adjustable upper front and rear control arms... you know, basically the whole adjustable lot! Sport Compact Car also have the latest USCC online now at http://www.sportcompactcarweb.com so take a look...

Cheers!
