I'm in the market for an SUV. I test drove an MDX and thought that was pretty good until I test drove an FX35 last week. Boy, I was completely blown away! I love the look and the handling. I'm not even looking at other SUVs any more. I gotta have a FX35!

Since the company I work for has a business relationship with Infiniti, Infiniti's partner purchase program is available to me. So I asked the salesperson the price I could get from the program and he told me it would be around $1000 over invoice! I thought that was a load of crap. Can someone please tell me if I should just pay at invoice or a couple hundred bucks above invoice for an 05 FX35 ? Am I expecting too much? How much have people recently paid? Thanks for your help. I'll probably go down to the dealership again this weekend. I'm looking to get an FX35 + Touring package. Too bad the Diamond graphite/Brick leather combo isn't available unless I get the sport package... That combo is really cool.

Through the Vehicle Purchase Program (VPP), Business Associates pay a pre-negotiated price for a Nissan or Infiniti vehicle: dealer invoice less any applicable incentives, plus delivery fee, plus a destination and handling charge and, if applicable, an advertising assessment fee.

For Business Associates, the VPP price is calculated as follows:

- Dealer invoice
- Minus VPP discount (Nissan 2.87% : Infiniti 1.65%)
- Plus dealer added options, Security Plus, etc.
- Plus 2.5% delivery fee of dealer invoice after VPP discount has been subtracted
- Plus destination and handling charge
- Minus applicable incentives
- Equals paticipant's purchase price
Basically with VPP discount you'll pay 0.85% over invoice with no haggling. For more info go here: http://www.insidenissan.com/vpp/vendor/index.html

lol.... You never pay invoice or over invoice - you pay less then invoice , and not only a couple hundred bucks. The dealer prep and delivery charge/destination are B*llsh!t add ons too. For example - the Tech package invoice is listed on edmunds at 3600 when it really invoices at 2100. Dealers get factory kickbacks on vehicles dont let them scam you out of money , be smart. You should be able to get an 05 D/G with sport/touring pkg for 35-36,500. Those should be your haggling numbers. Just call one dealership and tell them another can do it for 35,500 - mention (dont overly mention) that you are buying a car by a certain day from another dealership and to get back to you if they want to deal. If they dont get back to you by that day then you know 35,500 was too low because there is no way they will let another place sell you a car and lose out on a sale. One time I called the infiniti place looking to get a 35 before i got my 45. I was looking at the touring/sport sapphire, I made an offer and the dealer called me back and dropped his price about 2,500.00 in 2 phone calls that were about 10 mins apart. This just goes to show you how much room they have - so try working out with those prices I gave you - You'll probably end up spending 36 or 36,500 which still is a good deal, pay 36500 if you have to but not a cent over

if you use VPP, ask about your VPP tier. the details presented by CAR54 are for most VPP users and result in about a few hundred over invoice....BUT....if your company is intimately involved with nissan/infiniti, you may be eligible for a higher discount.

either ehich way, you will be able to get the car for right about posted invoice with VPP, or less than that if you just haggle some. the haggle part depends on the dealer you use though.

good luck!

In So. Cali we got one for a cousin for $100 under invoce. So you should not pay anything over invoce. It may also depend on what packages you get. The way we got was FX35+premium.
Good luck! And you are going to love the car even more when you get it!

You can't really say that everyone in all 50 states can get under invoice pricing. Demand and local economies are stronger in some markets more than others. I don't think the DC area, where I'm from, is hurtin'

Maybe I could have gotten less than VPP, but didn't feel like doing a fax/email bid to all area dealerships like I did for my last 3 cars.

I JUST GOT A FX35 FOR MY WIFE ON SUNDAY. I GOT A PEARL WHITE WITH TOURING AND TECH PACKAGE. I WORK FOR NISSAN AND I USED MY VPP DISCOUNT, THE WINDOW STICKER PRICE WAS ARROUND $46,000 AND I PAID $41,026 PLUS TAG AND TAXES. I THINK THAT IS A GOOD DEAL. ME AND MY WIFE ARE SUPER HAPPY WITH THE CAR NOW.

Welcome chinoyan from Maryland. I'm sure that a Pearl White FX would be welcomed at our first Mid-Atlantic/NE meet > http://www.infinitifx.org/phpBB2/viewto ... highlight=

The invoice prices on Edmunds are:

car: 33650
touring package: 2499

total = 36149

Is that the invoice price I should use? Dealers always ask people to pay the "Delivery charge" and the "Advertising fee". I should never pay those fees, right?

bte, I test drove a Murano too 'coze I thought it was just a cheaper version of the FX. Boy, was I wrong... The Murano testdrive was kind of boring because of the CVT.

Moderators we really need to disallow use of the M word here.

go to edmunds and get the invoice price of _ALL_ options. this is what is used. plug them into that formula above. your actual price will be VERY close to that (can be differnt becuase of the fact that edmunds might not have the latest price increased posted). have the dealer tell you waht they are planning to tack on top of that before you get started too and work from there if you think you can get them to drop some of the dealer specific charges.

VPP pricing calculations for the main car and packages are the same no matter where its done. just tax, tags, and other dealer charges are the variable.

When you call them ask for the internet specialist. Typically they will work off straight invoice +$500. Then work down from there. I just bought a loaded FX35 AWD, sport, tech, & touring. Paid straight invoice (no delivery / prep fee), then had them add chromes for $800. Probably could have worked em down a bit more, but they had to buy the car from a dealer in WA and ship it down to me. 8)
