Anybody heard of a racket by the name National Safety Council ? They sent me a letter out - of all places - Nu Yawk saying I had accumulated 5-plus violations on my record and now MUST attend some ( reaching for a barf bag ) classes where I'd be educated about the joys of safe and responsible driving. Failure to comply will result - you guessed it - in suspension of my license. Of course they do that not only becasue they dare to care, but also in accordance with MA state law. http://www.mass.gov/legis/laws/mgl/175-113b.htm where I failed to find a reference to what they're talking about. Oh, almost forgot. These self-less crusaders for safe roads stand to separate me from about $100 in the process.
Now, in case you thought I might actually gain something from this encounter - point reduction, break on insurance premiums etc. - you thought wrong. Not in the state of MA. Ever since I moved into this socialist cesspool I have paid in various fees, fines and surcharges enough money to build a hospital somewhere in Calcutta. And all I did was get caught " violating " speed limits posted back when Nixon was in office, if not earlier. No accidents at fault or otherwise; no reckless drivng; no drivng under influnece; no endangering of property none of that stuff. The situation here has gotten so bad lately that I drive past speed traps practically once per day. For me to finally get off my rear and go buy a Solo 2 it really had to bite me in the arse, I guess  .
