In a recent head-2-head run this puppy beat a $570K Pagani Zonda that was packing 547HP AMG-built V12 and was 419 lb lighter to boot. The latter is an inside out hand-made car whose interior can be ordered to feature any number of exotic materials/themes of your choice; foreskin of an octopus including. Then the FQ-400 took on Lambo Murcielago and outran it too. All the while looking pretty much stock, save for the sports mirrors. Here's the best part, though. Come winter time, you can swap out summer rubber for some snow shoes and hit the road again. All I can say is - UN-FRIGGING-BELIEVABLE  .

P.S. The torque rating is supposed to be @ 380 lb-ft

Don't be surprised. Enthusiasts all over the country have been modifying their cars for years, putting turbos, superchargers, etc... There is a market for heavily modified cars, capable of ourrunning $100K+ supercars for only a fraction of a cost and still with a warranty. Mitsubishi and Subaru realized just that (EVO and STI). Expect more of such cars in the future from other manufacturers as well...

Thanks for the link.

The "Evo" in spirit has been around for a while as a Talon / Eclipse AWD Turbo (DSMs).

Of course the EVO is a MUCH more refined car in handling etc... but the Talon/Eclipse's can be made to handle well too.

The EVO has more-or-less the same motor as the DSMs.

The only thing stopping me from buying one is that I'm prepping / racing a Suzuki GSXR 600 this year with WERA (motorcycle racing). Can't afford both :(

Well, that's the thing. Everybody and their poodle have been modifying cars since Gawd knows when. But turning them into something outta Star Trek in the process. Whereas this lil bugger looks near 100% stock and comes with 3y/36K mile warranty.

If you hunt around the web you can see the review of it on 5th Gear. Yeah, it hung with the Lambo around a track but everyday driveability of that thing stinks!

The host couldn't even drive off normally with that car without it stalling.
