welp........

never let it be said that i am afraid to experiment with mods......

i now am running d2s's at 2½ times the oem output color (still oem 35w a piece though)

all i can say is wow

they are VERY intense.......

YES, there is less white light (pure), but there's also more reflective hues of blue/purple, which MORE than make up the difference

IMO, i like em better

IMO you may or may not........

wanna see??

10,000KOUTPUT???

Hello,
I am thinking of going to 6000k ultinons. What would be the best fog light replacement to closely match the color temp ?

Thanks,

hard to capture the essence of the bulbs really.....

they are INSANE, imo..... attract alot of looks, for sure.....

i feel they offer the MOST reflectivity, and therefor, are the best for my needs (your opinions may vary!!)

i have ha sev. beemer owners ask me what i did to make the beams so intense!! (told em i bought a true performance car!!lol--j/k)

gladya like em!

im still very impressed by their glow, and still look forward to nite drives!

i bought them from ebay, OFF-auction pricing......

not sure if you can get them at my price, so i can always buy em for those who want em......

im still waiting to see the 12000K output though... (lol...jus kidding, maybe)

i have my 8000K's left over, and will most likely hold onto them as spares....... (dont know anyone with the 10K's or how long their life is, so i keep the 8K's in my goodie bag for now....)<-- easy to swap out, if ya need ((hope NOT)

click HERE for the auction i found them on... then click on "contact seller" and you can send him an email....

post back up with your results!

Monday, I'm going up there to get the CAI measured. Maybe I'll get a dyno to get a baseline that day too. I'm also gonna get more details on the plenum on Monday.

I hope so! Been dying to do SOMETHING to my car for awhile.... honestly, I thought I was done with modding cars, but the bug has bitten me pretty hard again. There is NO CURE.

How much were they? I used to not mind if my HIDs don't look "HIDish" enough, but y'all've got me wondering now (and a bluer light would be a cheap(?) "bling" improvment w/o screwing up my FX).

The 10,000Ks are relatively cheap. $120/pair shipped I think. Ask Es where he got it from, I lost my link :(

BTW, Kenny, if you want BLING, you'd want these bad boys.

Is there noticable less light output than the 6000k bulbs? Which ones look most like the color of the BMW bulbs (what color temp do they use?)?

BMW/Audi bulbs are actually only ~4200K. It's their projector lens crystal that makes their light look purple/blue.

crystal/shape thereof........

i have seen a new(er) bmw with 8000K's and it looks almost alien..... (fantastic, imo)

this topic creates such a heated debate, that i no longer discuss it really.....
