auto tilting side mirrors in reverse

my side view mirror(s) tilt down when i shift into reverse. I don't really need this happening, and I am picturing it moving and seizing up one day.

Is there a way in the menu to turn this off? I can turn it off in my buick but I couldn't find it at a glance in my fx

thx

What year is your fx? Usually Infiniti has it that when the mirror switch is to the driver or passenger it will tilt when in reverse but if the switch is in the middle position it will not. I have a 12 FX50s and that’s how mines work.

I'm glad you asked this chris_s as I only recently purchased the 2nd Gen (2015 QX70), and happened to notice this one day when the the mirror switch was to the right (must have been detailing interior...lol); I moved the mirror switch to the middle and reversed; nothing. Move the side-mirror switch to far left, then reversed, and yes, driver's side mirror tilts downward. Why not both tilt down when in the middle? I know this technology exists as I've been provided loaner vehicles (while mine is getting warranty work done) with the option; QX50, QX60, to name a few.

Are both side mirrors supposed to tilt down in reverse when switch is in the middle? I hope so, and it's just a quick warrantly-fix!

interesting that the qx50 and qx60 do both mirrors. Based on my vehicle and arod's vehicle I'd say that yours is behaving as designed. My buick does both mirrors or no mirrors (configured in OSD)

Just called Infiniti Service Dept; I must have been mistaken with the recent loaners of QX50 & QX60 because when the side-mirror switch is in the middle, upon reversing, neither mirror should tiled downward; only the left or right side-mirror when pushed to the left or right respectively.

Must have confused two rentals I had recently after the accident that totaled my FX35 before getting my QX70. Sorry, for the confusion, guys!
