Dark Headlights (not smoked?)

I have a 2007 FX35 w/ Sport and Touring packages which has the 'smoked headlights'....but the dark headlights in this photo look so much better than mine...anyone know if this is a mod or aftermarket headlight set or what?

they probably modded the headlights when they blacked out the grill. Are those really darker than your stock smoked headlights or is it just the darker paint coming through the bottom of the headlight housing? Hard to see in the photo.

05 FX35, Silverstone, Graphite, Touring, Escutcheon, Sport Pedals, LED Dtrl's(thanks rookie), Stillen STB, +2 Timing, Stillen CAI, LMS Z-Tube, Grrrowwl!!, Plenum is next (OK - well - actually the G35 E-brake pedal is next, but I swear, something is going to happen with that plenum).

Thanks for the reply, that is what i expected (he modded the inside of the light). My truck is black too and they look considerably lighter in comparison.

You can do the mod to your lights but it will involve pulling the housing, heating it up to seperate the two pieces, painting the inside and then gluing the pieces back together. A bunch of years ago there was a thread that involved putting the housing in an oven to heat up the glue holding the two pieces together but I'm not sure if that old thread remains.

Appreciate the input but no way I'm risking them fogging up and blowing a ballast again (had to deal with that once).

Fair enough. It's not something that I would be comfortable with either
