where in NY I can get lowering springs installed on FX45

Can anyone on the board recommend an installer in Long Island NY area where I can get lowering springs installed on my FX45.... I want to lower the front only....
- any preference as to HR or Eibach regarding ride quality
- which will yield the biggest front drop - Eibach or HRs? I searched tirerack for Eibach and the product details do not give specific drop info whereas another site lists the HRs as yielding 2" drop ( http://www.autocarparts.com/part/179/5142/
- lastly, did you need front alignment after installing either Eibachs or HRs,
Thank you

i was quoted $612 for spring install and alignment buy a shop here. i would recommend just emailing or calling some shops around, and the dealership, to compare prices. on stillen.com, they say eibach is 1.2" front and rear, H&R is 1.3" front, 1.2" rear. this is FX35, but i would guess its similar. you can always cut the springs, as turbocad has done.

StuLax18, thank you for the info.... I see from other posts that HR seems to be the preferred lowering spring....Also I saw a post where SEars did the HR install for $200 although I am not comforatble wiht Sears working on my FX.... I will get quotes try the usual suspects - Sears Auto, Midas, Monro and then shop their quotes wiht the stealership.... thanks

BTW, why do you only wanna do the fronts? From what I've gathered (haven't done it yet) putting the fronts on, your front will feel much better and tied down while the rear would probably feel "floaty" in comparison...

Re: where in NY I can get lowering springs installed on FX45

datman, the reason I only want to lower the front is for cosmetic reasons...I think the rear of the FX appears too low in relation to the rest of the car... so lowering the front will give the rear a higher appearance .... do you have any other suggestions on how to accomplish raising the rear besides lowering the front? thank you

Re: where in NY I can get lowering springs installed on FX45

TOPS...here is something major you want to consider. Lowering the front with springs will accomplish your goal of the "visual" look. However, your car's gonna handle like crap. You'll be riding on 2 completely different spring rates. If I were you, lower the car on all 4 springs, cut the fronts 1/4th of a coil or even a 1/3rd and call it good.

Re: where in NY I can get lowering springs installed on FX45

zcspec , THANK YOU for the heads-up......I may need to reconsider my strategy of front spring lowering strategy.... regarding cutting the springs, i did research this option and seems cutting springs is not reccommended as the installer then may need to add "pads" to level the ride height ( left to right), and other poor ride issues...I'll see if anyone else chimes in regarding lowering springs and cutting springs and then decide next steps.. thanks
