Horn and Steering Controls

Hey guys my steering controls don't work, and my horn only works when I'm turning. What could that be, loose wire, fuse, relay, clock spring?

Hey what’s up. This sounds almost positive to be a clockspring problem. Also check if your airbag light is on or flashing if so then it’s more of a indication of a bad clockspring
. If you have access to a scanner I would scan for codes (current or history) take it to a shop they should be able to know easily enough. Good luck

Replace Clock Spring in steering wheel

Had a similar problem the clock spring switch had failed (B5567)

Replaced the steering wheel angle sensor at the same time.

Make sure you pick the right parts for your car and you will need an OBD II reader that can reset the steering wheel angle or you will get a general failure of your traction control system. (None of my OBD II readers would do that). [

The job isn't terribly difficult but getting some of the plugs undone and then making sure they were snug again once the switch was in place was impressively difficult. there is a video on YouTube on how to do it on a G35 (similar process) (search on replacing Infiniti Clock Spring)

Thank you it was the clock spring had it replaced. Anyone having the issue check out Bay Ridge Nissan Online parts store, they had the oem clockspring for the best price.

I am currently in a similar situation. Mine seems even worse because my horn doesn't work at all. It works when i lock the car but won't work from the steering wheel. Could it be the clockspring?
