2006 FX35 pealing window molding...Help!

Hello Fellow Infiniti Drivers,

I have a 2006 FX35 and the window trim/molding is swiftly deteriorating. I'm not a "car person" and have done my best to swift through posts on several sites...I'm overwhelmed.

A colleague recommended that I wrap the part covering the chrome with black vinyl wrapper. I'm not sure if that's a smart option.

Any help/guidance/lessons learned you can provide for replacing the chrome covering, window panels, and rubber molding is greatly needed and appreciated.

Thank you kindly.

You can actually buy replacement trim for all window surrounds but last time I looked it was over $1200 for all new trim for the 4 doors. Most people wrap them with vinyl. It is the easiest and most cost effective solution. Once they get cracked like that you may have to chip away the paint or the vinyl might be uneven.

2007 FX35 with Same Window Trim Cracking Problem

I have this same issue. The worst side is the passenger side because that is the side that gets sun baked while the car sits in my driveway. Where do I find more about this idea of "wrap them in vinyl"?

Thanks.
