Worthwhile differences in FX50/QX70 model years?

I know the 2013-14 have some electronics upgrades. I prefer the look of the newer grill style, but mechanically and general quality-wise, are there any advantages to the newer models over the 2009-10 models? Are there any years to avoid? I've read about peeling wood and transmission re-flashes, etc. Did the self healing paint end up being a good thing? What years was it used? Do the rear active steer and continuous damping systems hold up well over time?

I'm considering replacing my 185K mile FX45 with the next generation w/ Sport package. My current FX has required very minimal repairs to get to this point, I would like to think that an FX50 would be similar, reliability wise.

Thanks!

I think 2012 added power liftgate (I test drove a 2010 that didn't have it, and my 2012 has it)
the 2012 infotainment and nav is also a lot improved over my 2009 g37

I suspect the self healing paint is very susceptible to swirl marks, but I don't have any concrete reason to believe that.

I have no reliability concerns to date, other than periodic frozen doors and stuck fuel tank floats.

I think the vehicle was largely unchanged from 2009-2017

I don't think the self healing paint was very well received and I'm not sure that is is even offered anymore but I think it was listed as "scratch shield paint" as an option for a bunch of years.

As to the RAS options I think I would avoid them. Seems like a fairly complicated system to break down. The FX is a very well handling vehicle for it's size and I don't think you need the added systems to marginally improve handling.

05 FX35, Silverstone, Graphite, Touring, Escutcheon, Sport Pedals, LED Dtrl's(thanks rookie), Stillen STB, +2 Timing, Stillen CAI, LMS Z-Tube, Grrrowwl!!, Plenum is next (OK - well - actually the G35 E-brake pedal is next, but I swear, something is going to happen with that plenum).

I want the sport seats, paddle shifters and adaptive cruise control. The RAS has never really appealed to me, the continuous damping suspension sounds cool, but I imagine it will be costly to service as parts wear out, and I don't really know the difference in cornering performance. My current FX45 I have been driving for about 10 years, now at 185K miles with minimal money required to keep everything nearly perfect. I would like to be able to do the same with an FX50/QX70 V8. I generally drive like a maniac and frequently tow a trailer, and I appreciate that the old FX handles it with no issue.

In it's day the FX45 was the best handling V8 SUV on the market. I am sure that the FX50 will be the same for "fun to drive" factor but I am the same, and wouldn't want so many bells and whistles that can be expensive to repair.
