True, when using the headphone jack but has anyone actually tried to connect their iPod using the line out instead?

Thru the dock connector? Thats the only line out. Yes you can get a harness and install that instead. Audio is higher.

OKay so I tested the line out on the iPod touch and indeed I still require the Turbo1 PAC line driver. I cranked the volume up to full and it was pounding but it should be that at half volume. But comparing that to the headphone output, the line out is of much higher quality and clarity.

Hopefully this clears up alot of questions on that part!

Okay so I finally did this project, got the Turbo 1 driver installed and everything works great.

My setup is as follows:

- iPhone 3GS
- PAC Turbo 1 driver connected into the DVD wire harness as outlined in the instructions
- Griffin Powerjolt charger for the iPhone

Now I seem to be getting some kind of DC noise when the iPhone is charging and worse when fully charged. I have been able to trace it back to the charger and even if I get another charger or a Belkin, it just variates the type of sound. I did a test and took the iPhone AC cube charger and the noise went away completely. The other test I did was take the Griffin powerjolet DC charger and put it on a 12v lead acide battery and the noise is still there. So overall, it appears to be how the noise is supressed coming out of the charger. The reason why the noise gets through is because all the grounding points are connected *hence GROUNDING*, so the line out ground is the same as the charger 5v+ line in, etc.

I read posts on here for a ground loop isolator so I purchased one and it suppressed the sound quite a bit but I heard it kills some of the quality of the sound. I can't seem to notice any difference though I'm wondering if there is a DC car charger out there that will filter out the noise before the phone gets it.

Now going back to the Apple cube charger, I don't think there's any circuitry inside that to stop providing 5volts since the iphone internally has that circuitry so I think i need to find a charger that constantly provides power without detecting it.

Not sure if anyone had this issue but any feedback or things to check for would be much appreciated!
