At 18 I got my first job in the body shop as an apprentice to the head painter.
I would take the car after body filler was completed & sanded smooth.
Taping, mixing, spraying & sanding the primer coats, tape it up again & get the car ready for paint.
After getting the car back I wetsanded the clear coat, compounded & polished the outside of the car.
3 years later in the summer of 2000, I decided to leave the body shop & venture out on my own.
With $2,000 I started my own mobile detailing business. I still remember the first car I detailed, my neighbor's 1997 Pontiac Bonneville that I finished under the street lights at 9:30 pm. I used the money from her car to purchase my first buffer, the Dewalt 849 Variable Speed Polisher.
In 2001 I set up a tent in the backyard of a mechanic shop.
I bounced around a bit until I found my current home @ 17-16 154th st Whitestone, NY (Queens)
I have 12 years of experience & knowledge working with automotive paint & various other skills in the industry.
Big "A" Detailing has fast become one of the premier shops in the tri-state area.

As far as pricing for 2010, I have no plans to increase my prices.
The only thing that has changed is the addition of paint restoration. Our paint restoration prices will still be reasonable without compromising the final quality of the work.
In short, paint restoration is the next step above your average polish or compound & polish job. Some customers just want a nice shine to their car while others would like a little more attention to removing paint defects such as fine scratches, swirls & acid raid stains.
The paint is looked at under special lighting with the ultimate goal of a perfect finish & the deepest, wettest reflection. All paint restoration jobs are finished off with a coat of sealant & topped off with a coat of wax, both applied by hand. All glass, head & tail lights, wheels & exhaust tip are polished & sealed as well.
Paint correction jobs can take anywhere from 10.00 hours to 25.00 hours.
All cars are different, each requiring different amounts of time based on paint condition & color.

There will be 3 levels of pricing for paint restoration : $250, $350, $450

1- 1Z Einszett Glanz Wax to seal the clear coat
2- Adams Americana Paste Wax as a top coat
3- Rejex on all glass,head & tails, wheels

you can see the Rejex applied to the glass & headlights. after about 15 mins its removed. repeat for the tails & wheels. 1Z Glanz applied all around the car, then removed after about 15 mins.


Americana applied. we do this one panel at a time not leaving the wax on the paint for more than 2-3 mins before removal. i believe in applying one medium coat of product instead of one or two thin layers "for even coverage" as some product companies suggest as well as other detailers. everyone has theyre own way of doing things, this is what works for me.

i got started on the shoveling sat night. from about mid day sun till 11pm me & my friend freddy were shoveling. i really need to get a snow blower next year. i ran out of space to put the snow. i started heaving plies over my shoulder & into my neighbors back yard, sorry fella =)
