How can I change the FX35 Radio channel scanning interval

Postby shahari » Thu Jan 12, 2006 3:22 am

Hi everyone

I just bought a 2004 FX35.
I'm living in the Middle East and wants to change the radio scanning mode to fit European standards.

I've been told it could only be done by an authorized dealer by upgrading the radio firmware (they want 400$ for this change).

Is there any other way I can do it by mylself through settings or special code ???

Please Help

Hi Shahari

As far as I know, the scanning mode CANNOT be changed to fit the european standard. I live in Europe, but I couldn't find a way so far to change the scanning mode.
It seems to be not a firmware, but a hardware implementation, so it's gona be very hard changing the mode.

But - I you find a way: let me know asap ;)

**UPDATE**

There IS a possibility to Update the scanning intervals of the Radio. You can now scan ALL freqs !
BUT you LOSE THE RDS (Radio Data Signal - the one who displays the name of the station instead of the freq) !!
So you have to decide: RDS OR ALL FREQS .... thats a real buster ;)

Hi Suxxer,

I would happily drop RDS in exchange of ALL FREQS > where I live (Budapest) most of the good stations appear to use even frequencies.

Can you tell me what the solution is?

Thanks,
Attila

Can one of you guys tell me how to do this mod? It seems noone in Turkey could figure this out yet. Conversions to other US cars are made but they tell me Infiniti's system is hard to crack.

Many shops in Russia can do it.
they charge a little over $100 for this mod and it takes less than an hour with removal and installation.

That sounds fantastic, but Russia is a heck of a drive from Hungary or Turkey. Do you mean an official Infiniti dealership in Russia, or just any shop? Do you have an email address, URL or phone number for such a place? Thanks!

Can someone give the contact info in Russia? I will try to give them a call and see what they can do.

Yes, that is exactly what we are talking about. And we need a wise guy to show us how to do it. step by step if possible...[/quote]

I have done it here:
Russia, Moscow, Lihov per, 5
+7 (903) 797-0975
http://www.erta.ru

they charge $100 and it takes 30 min with removal and installation.
Is necessary to remove radio.

You may send your radio to him to crack and then get your radio back.
