Considering this 2008 FX 45, price seems great, miles are high but should ne highway. How difficult is it to add factory IPOD to an 08, did 08's come with a choice of xm or Sirius? I have read of some issues with the 4.5 in the M has it been reliable in the FX. Any other concerns experts would have with this veheicle. 08 w/ clean carfax for $26,900 sounds like a decent deal. Coming from 05 E500 AMG sport.

Seems like a good price... A LOT of mileage for just an 08 though... nice that it has the full TECH and NAV packages... not much more you could add to the 08 FX45...

Coming from the 05 E500 AMG SPORT, the FX won't perform quite as nicely... 0-60 won't be as good but cornering will probably surprise you... however the interior will definitely NOT be as nice as your AMG... the FXs have been pretty much rock solid as far as reliability... there was some concern over a noise the V8 makes when it's been started and stopped very quickly (ie: moving it in and out of the driveway so someone else can get out)... the subsequent start can be very harsh... but it doesn't affect the reliability of the engine at all... the 08 was pre-wired for iPod so adding the module is VERY easy... not sure what was offered with the 08 as far as SAT RADIO but you can definitely get one and the install isn't very hard either... there's several write-ups and topics discussing both additions you want to make...

GL with your search!

Personal opinion is, you could do better for the price. You won't see much difference between a 2006/07 and a 2008, and with fewer miles.

High miles don't seem to be an issue for the FX, but maintenance and repairs are coming into the picture, and they can be somewhat pricey. But if you love the car and it looks and feels solid and well cared for, go for it!

For an '08 FX45 fully loaded with tech and nav, I think $26k isn't too bad. Sticker price was probably mid $50's just 2 years back. But I cringe though at the thought of 74k miles on a 2 year old vehicle, even if it is highway mileage. There's no way to differentiate between city mileage and highway mileage by looking at the odometer, and the next person who buys that vehicle isn't going to know the difference either; the blue book value will reflect.

If I were you, have the vehicle inspected at an Infiniti dealership to see if its in good shape. Also Infiniti can look up the VIN and see the service records nationally (if it has any). And always try to talk the price down a few thousand.

that is allot of mileage for 2 years. How much are you saving? I'd compare the savings to the cost of services coming due. May just be worth it to spend a fraction more and go for a lower mileage 08 or 07. I think the the only diff from what I recall 07 to 08 was in 08 they changed the radio antenna. All else is the same. Someone correct me if I'm wrong....

Here in Canada these vehicles have dropped dramatically in price. 3 years ago when I got my FX a 3-4 year old 35 with about 50,000 - 60, 000 miles were going for 34K no tech. Now, you can get the same vehicle with the same mileage and the tech pacage for around 30gs CAD. One of the reasons I decided to off load my lease. By the time I factored in the buy back and added taxes I would be paying 30k for an FX with no tech 1 year from now. I can get a tech package with the same mileage today for the same price and I saw no value in purchasing this vehicle when the market is saturated with them driving the cost down.

Drove it yesterday, only noticeable issue was driver seat gear which appears to be a nominal repair, dealer gave me previous owners name & contact, was bought & serviced @ Atlantic Inf. in Jax will be checking with them on service record. Owner did own retirement home out of state which could account for the miles.. It was missing the headphones aldso, but dealer would locate a pair.

Where is the xm box in an FX I have a lifetime sirius sub & would want to swap boxes.
Do you have to tear up the dash to do a factory IPOD instal?

Xm tuner is under the cargo gloor in the rear passenger side. Ipod mod is easy behind the glove box for an 08 prewired.
