Hi all,

I'm brand new to the forum and to the world of FX! I previously owned a Xterra and was very happy with the Nissan platform!

So I'm from Chicago. I flew to Idaho to pick her up and drove her back 1400 miles! SO worth the trip! The pic is taken with my blackberry. Better pics coming soon.

My 2003 has technology package, rear dvd, and brick interior! The V8 is AWESOME! Getting 19 mpg. I could not be happier! Looking forward to spending some time on this forum!

Beautiful FX! I know how you feel about driving to get the vehicle of your choice -- I drove 400 miles to get my FX. Nowhere near as far as 1400 miles though!!

Do you have any mods planned? In Illinois, can you tint the front windows (it would look much better)? Also, why is the antenna straight up like that?

I guess he was REALLY excited to get his FX...

And nice aftermarket rims... are those 20's?

hahaha... I realized halfway to Illinois that it was sticking straight up... but yes, there is no better way to show my excitement. haha

Illinois tinting laws are tricky. I think you can only tint 35% outside the city of chicago. I did plan on doing it anyway to match the rears.

The rims are aftermarket 20's. They say Rozzi on them. They came with the car and I definitely would not have chosen those. The centercaps on 3 of them are discolored. Overall, they seem like really cheap rims. I plan on using these for winter though. They are wrapped in Good Year Wrangler HP's.

The Mods I have planned are all cosmetic. Trying to find a decent priced set of the clear smoked taillights. Next spring, I plan on having everything that is chrome on the truck painted gunmetal. I can't stand chrome. Also, my Ducati is red and gunmetal and it'll match nice.

Thanx for the responses all! I'm looking forward to bouncing ideas and shooting the breeze with you guys!

Rail-less...looks clean! Its not a sport?
They didn't have clear tails and aluminum roof racks in 03... started in 05 if I remember correctly...

But the inside pedals should be different and it should have the black chrome grill...maybe I'm wrong. If I remember correctly there was no difference in actualy suspension components, just the wheel size and other asthetics like the silver rails and the sport tails and dark headlights which appeared in 05.

Its sweet that's its a sport...rare color and the stiffest suspension with the sport package that now "sports" (get it) the smoked/clear tailights and headlights.

Looking good! You will love your V8. 7 years and 60,000 miles later and I still love driving mine.

Aren't the Reds the most "endangered?"
The reds are close, but probably only the second rarest color. I believe Sheer Platinum is the rarest -- only available in '05 on the FX45.

Funny about the Sheer Platinum (sorry to threadjack) but Ive seen 3 different ones in the past 2 days. Weird. One even had that ugly side molding on it. Why would you get such a nice color (and pay extra for it) and slap that crap on there?

Perhaps you should post a new topic instead of posting in an old and unrelated topic???

Don't even bother with that one. 125k is a lot of unknown miles.

The FX45 is a terrific vehicle with the torque of the V8, it's creative styling, functionality, performance in the snow, great handling, and interior creature comoforts. It was among the first of the crossover SUV's to hit the market and is what a lot of today's SUVs try to emulate but always somehow fall short.
