(the EP000 connects to the VS000 which plugs into the VR002)
That is correct. If you go to http://www.nissansattuner.com and look under Infiniti FX ipod you will see a without sat kit and without sat extended kit. Get the extended kit if you want the ipod to reach further up front than in the center console.
Instructions are here http://s11.quicksharing.com/v/7813022/I ... n.pdf.html for 2005. only difference is where the prewire cable is. Here is a pic showing the location of the prewire plug.
For additional info and an install pictoral see this thread http://www.infinitifx.org/phpBB2/viewto ... +connector

Just to make sure I get this.. I have a 2007 Infiniti FX35 without Sat. I would like to control the iPod from the wheel (wife likes the safety of it). So I should get the infiniti version? (is there one?)

Thanks,
Gary

There is no Infiniti branded version. The Nissan is the only one. It will not do track up/down from the steering wheel. There is no system that does that. You will have to control tracks from the radio buttons. Just get the Ipod front kit without sat and you'll be set.

Not really now that Brian has the front mount kit. Cheaper, and less cables to run. Just need to take out the radio and access there.

Thanks John.....another question, for someone thats not very handy around tools and such - would the extended kit be easier to install? I have Sat installed and that wasnt too bad.....but taking out the radio scares me

Well yes the extended kit is actually easier to install, since you don't have to pull the radio. Very easy to break the ribbon cable on the radio face, and those plugs back there are a bitch to get out. With the extended kit, you have to pull apart the rear area, and the side sill plates. Not too bad. I'd say go with the extended.
