Nissan/Infiniti OEM IPod Interface integration thread

Mod Edit 9/11/10: For a condensed version of what you currently need to get ipod functionality in your FX, go right to this thread: viewtopic.php?f=5&t=11426
It has parts links and instructions. This thread here may have some outdated info so please consult the link above for the latest information.

I was going to order the Neo Mp3 thing from http://www.mp3yourcar.com tonight, but I happen to do a bit of googling first.

It looks like Nissan has come out with a new iPod adapter version 2 which supports the new 2006 Murano as well as most other nissan models. It appears to plug into the OEM Sat port in the rear of the Murano, so I'm thinking it might work for our FXs as well.

Screenshot and discussion:
http://forums.ilounge.com/showthread.php?t=164397

Part number:
999U7-VR000 (might be number 999U7-VR002 for the new version)

Required Harness:
999U7-VS000 (without SAT) or 999U7-VS001 (with Sat)

Supported models:
2005-2006 Frontier with 6 CD Factory Radio
2005-2006 Xterra with 6 CD Factory Radio
2005-2006 Path with Factory Bose 6 CD Radio
2004-2006 Nissan Titan with 6 CD Radio
2004-2006 Armada
2004-2006 Nissan Quest
2004-2006 Nissan Murano (iPod mounts in Rear Cargo Area)

Here is a link to the install directions for the Frontier, Pathfinder, and Xttera. Couldn't find Murano instructions though.

I might stop by the dealer on Friday and get one to test out.

Definitely keep us updated, this looks to be the easiest way to hook up an iPod.

I've put off the installation of an iPod jack pending the results off using this adapter in an FX35. So, if you need help locating this part, I'll call my dealerships as well.
