Question about the Nav in a 2005 FX.

According to zenrin.com the current version is 6.3. However, the manual that came with my FX states its version 7.0. Could this be?

Also someone in another thread (2006 model changes) mentioned that they couldn't get a zoom of 1/16mi. My system does this.

It looks like a higher amount of zoom as well "1/6 mile" from what it shows here.
So Is my system different?

The 2005 models have the latest version whcih is v6.3 (which is printed on the actual DVD which is underneath the passenger seat, accessible from the rear seats). The "1/4 mile" zoom we refered to is in the 3D Birds-Eye view, and not regular top down view. I believe the top-down view has a greater zoom factor. As for your manual stating that it's version 7.0, look at your DVD and let us know what it says.

From what Zenrin has indicated, version 6.4 will be release near the end of the year. There will be updated content, however we don't know if anything else has been updated. We have assumed (based on the pictures of the 2006 FX and the QX), that the NAV may have some slight interface chanes such as the greater zoom for the Birds-Eye view, along with some transparency, a new compass, actual GPS words instead of the green satellite showing satellite tracking and the digital clock. I've asked Zenrin for the details of 6.4, alas they have not responded with any details.

Kinda sad that they won't release a GPS SDK for us to tinker with. Wouldn't that be nice?
