09 fx35 vs 09 fx37 performance

Hi Guys,

I use to own an 07 fx35 and I had to turn it in because my lease came up. My wife convinced me to downsize, so I purchased an 08 Tacoma and I'm really missing my fx.

I'm curious how the performance numbers of the fx37 (offered outside the US) compares to that of the 09 fx35. I'm debating whether I should hold off to see what '10 brings. If the performance numbers are that much better it might be worth holding off to see if the fx37 comes to the US.

What do you think?

I'm cursed with the family car gene!

Re: 09 fx35 vs 09 fx37 performance

The G now comes with the 3.7 standard (coupe OR sedan) so I don't see why the FX wouldn't eventually get that engine... if they're putting it in their "base" models, then logic would suggest the "higher end" models will get the same treatment... unfortunately, most car companies defy logic most of the time... let's hope INFINITI bucks the trend...

Re: 09 fx35 vs 09 fx37 performance

I found this data - I guess the G35 sedan MT compared to the G37 MT sedan is the best in comparing the different engines importance. Looks like there is only a .1 of a second difference.

Hmmm...

Quote:
This new g37auto gets 0-60 in 5sec flat. While the g35auto 0-60 5.6! And the g37stick gets 0-6- 5.2. While the g35stick 0-60 5.3! The new 7-speed has more aggressive gearing then both 6-speeds.
Does anyone know the 0-60 difference between the first gen FX35 and the second gen FX35?

The old FX was over 7 seconds (AWD) and the new FX is mid 6's (a touch faster than the original FX45)... so the 2nd gen FX35, you're getting even faster speeds than the 1st gen 45...

Re: 09 fx35 vs 09 fx37 performance

I can tell you that, from a roll, the G37 coupe TROUNCES the G35 coupe. Even with a stock G37, it takes a G35 with some serious modifications and REALLY sticky track tires to keep up on a track

Re: 09 fx35 vs 09 fx37 performance

driving the g35x sedan 5at vs the g37x 7AT it comes down to the transmission offering it the better performance off the line. the g37 coupe 5at vs the g37 7at is a slight advantage due to the transmission. it's not a MAJOR difference personally since the 7AT is in the '09 FX35 already.

Re: 09 fx35 vs 09 fx37 performance

So the new FX's came with a 3.7 right off the line, but just outside of the US? Why wasn't that done here as well?

Why are there **** on a bull? I don't think I've heard a definitive official answer. There are plenty of opinions out there as to why

Re: 09 fx35 vs 09 fx37 performance

the FX37, EX35, G37's were all released in Europe just to have a strong horsepower rating since it is the first time Infiniti is finally going global. Look at the europe site and see other options that we can't get here in the states, which from my standpoint I think it's amazing how many options or colors we are missing. I can't say how this company is run but the color combos and options are just very limited.
